2. His phone connection sucks, but you can still understand him.
He's saying SMART stuff, of course! And he knows what he's talking about!

3. I know... what a THRILL it will be to have intelligent people in charge again
I hope he'll be one of them!

His answer to where he's scheduled to be on Wednesday night (at a dinner in Milan) makes me feel optimistic... after avoiding the question about whether he'd be speaking at the convention on Wednesday, didn't he say something vague like "right now I'm scheduled to be at a dinner in Milan, Italy"?)

I love the way he's so obviously uncomfortable dodging the VP question. What an honest guy--he can't even tell a white lie well. (And about that VP slot... sounds like Rachel is hoping the same thing!)

8. Even if he's not VP, why would he be scheduled for something in Milan?
As a prominent Democrat, wouldn't he be at the convention anyway?

6. I'm still pissed about
Obama distancing himself from him. I'm sure Obama's campaign realizes how much Clark can bring to Obama's administration, I just hope they're not too chicken politically to take advantage of him.

9. That really upset me too - I'd like to think it was a good cop, bad cop play...
...but who knows?

10. I'm not concerned...
...I felt at the time and still feel that Obama only slightly distanced himself because Clark's statement came sooner than he'd have liked.

We needed for the story to go away, which it has. It was really such a non-story anyway (the truth, imagine that), but the timing wasn't helpful.

If Clark is chosen as VP, and I think and hope he will, Obama needed to distance himself from him just enough for the story to die, only to be ready if it's resurrected to challenge the media in their condemnation of it.

Hope that makes sense....I just drove 300 miles and I'm beat!
