I just got visited by Obama Canvassers

My dinner was interrupted--pleasantly for once!--by two very friendly volunteers, who were happy to chat about the campaign. Very exciting! It turns out the campaign has opened an office very near my house, which is cool, and he gave me the name of the local coordinator to see about putting in some time volunteering. I put my name in for tickets to see Obama's acceptance speech at Mile High, of course, but by volunteering I'm sure I'll have a better chance.

Even if I'm not lucky enough to get into the stadium for the big speech, I will still spend as much time downtown as I can to take in all the peripheral goings-on. Since I work downtown, only a few blocks from the convention site, this will be easy.

is the way to Invesco. I went to headquarters tonight and the place was packed with phone banker volunteers. I left, and will go back during the day when it's not so crowded.

5. Just got a call from the campaign chair here in Colorado. We're

setting up some dates and places tomorrow morning for volunteer stuff. I can't do the door to door stuff like I did for the caucuses, but I'm hell on wheels on the phone and computer.

I know a paid staff person so between volunteering and a connection or two I think I have a pretty good chance of getting tickets.

But, sadly, I was an enthusiastic Edwards delegate. Thank FSM I didn't get my most fervent wish! Say what you want about this being a private matter between the Edwardses, if he had gotten the nomination, we would all be lamenting right now that the whole thing was over. Sad but true

7. I canvassed on Sunday

for the second time. It was fine (even here in Co. Springs). I only got one door slammed in my face, but since it was Sunday most people weren't even home, so my day consisted mostly of leaving flyers in doors.
