1. He almost has to now that the spotlight is on Russia/Georgia --
And any of the four you mentioned would fit the bill beautifully!

2. Wes Clark will be an excellent defense to the McCain dirty campaign...
...the plans to push the "Obama is really not American enough" meme...

That is their biggest card, not "middle class American enough", (any way you want to slice that).

To put in a Real American military hero, four bullet holes in his body, supreme NATO commander, top of his class, against McCain's pathetic plane-crashing bottom of the class military career does double damage, strengthening Obama's Americaness and taking down McCain's military experience card.

Perfect match, IMHO.

service?

16. The "faux pas" statement was simple truth, pretty easy to defend, I think.
And, actually, good ammunition when the time comes.

Being a POW, while tragic, really does not make for good military or executive experience, (and it could be argued that it's so traumatic that the lasting effects could disqualify the man).

Of course it needed to be said in the right way and at the right time.

Clark's error wasn't in saying it, I think it was the timing.

5. Perfect, indeed.
I've thought Clark a great choice to cover any chinks in Obama's armor for quite some time.

7. The problem- O doesn't think he needs the extra armor. He
think's he's got national defense down. The only weak spots he thinks he has are "the finer points
of health care."

10. I think he'll listen to his advisors and make an informed decision, as always.
Of course, what they think is anybody's guess, but the recent activity in Georgia may weigh in Clark's favor.

12. If health care is where he thinks he needs help, then Kucinich should be his VP
Because he's the one who really got health care right. Unfortunately, he might not be the best VP choice after 8 years of "national security" brainwashing.

13. Anybody but Bayh - I will be happy. (oh, except of course Clinton)
but, I am at a point - anyone (except Bayh) and I will be happy. But, hell, why not pick a
heavyweight??? It doesn't make you less exciting.

I understand his campaign is divided about his whole thing, as well.

15. I agree that Bayh absolutely sucks.
Far right winger. boring. brings nothing at all to the ticket, including his own state, which is usually called for the Republican the minute the polls close.
