Ok, fess up. Which of you put dead rabbits on Puma doorsteps...
and which of you bang on their windows in the middle of the night with pots and pans. Come on, be honest, fess up now.

Someone's been doing some mischievous things to them.

From Jason Horowitz courtesy of The Observer.

High-Class Hillraisers Still Irate About Barack: ‘She Will Be Nominee’

They are meeting with Democratic leaders.

Recently, several of them met privately with Senator Chuck Schumer, who runs the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. According to a number of attendees and sources with direct knowledge of the meeting, their purpose was to lobby Mr. Schumer about introducing a new code of conduct for Democratic candidates that would officially declare gender bias as offensive as racism, and to encourage him to make it the official position of the party not to deal with media outlets perceived to be trafficking in misogyny.

“It was productive,” said one attendee.

They are accusing Obama supporters of nefarious things.

“Hi everybody. I hope that the Denver convention will be turned into the American equivalent of Tiananmen Square,” wrote a commenter named “johninca” on a Web site announcing PUMA’s 2008 “convention” in Washington.

In an interview, Darragh Murphy, the founder of PUMAPac, called the meeting crucial to counteract Mr. Obama’s aggressive and prolific online supporters.

..."Ms. Murphy, a mother of three who lives outside Boston, believes that the only way to save the Democratic Party at this point is to destroy it. Mr. Obama must lose, and his supporters must be purged. She said that Obama supporters have harassed her and her followers by banging on their windows with pots and pans in the middle of the night, making phone threats and leaving dead rabbits on their doorsteps.

“If this guy wins, that style of campaigning will become the de facto method,” said Ms. Murphy.

They are accusing Howard Dean of throwing the primary to Obama.

They are blaming Dean and Obama for "disappearing" one of their pumas who later appeared in good health.

We have become aware of attempts by the DNC and the Obama campaign to intimidate delegates. We know how Obama feels about “those people”, like there’s something wrong with us and they should stay away from us. Oh, yes, they are trying to make us as unpopular as Michael Moore. It’s their goal to dehumanize us, to make us objects. That way they can heap scorn and derision on us and diminish our power. The Obama supporters can treat us like less than human without penalty.

Well, that kind of $#*^ has consequences.

Tonight, one of our coalition members is missing. She hasn’t been seen since she left our conference site earlier this afternoon. No one has been able to contact her on her cell phone. Her mother is worried because she knows her daughter has had anonymous phone calls to her cell phone, threatening to track her down, who actually *knew* where she was and where she was going.

We are all very, very concerned. But this is what happens when you reduce your opponent’s supporters to dirt beneath your feet, easily ignored, dismissed, illegitimate."

In the Observer article by Horowitz there was this interesting statement. They intend to make Hillary the nominee because:

“I really believe she will be the nominee—I wouldn’t be doing this if I didn’t,” said Ms. Lieberman, who met Mr. Obama once on the campaign trail. (“He didn’t pay a bit of attention to me,” she said. “He’s tall and looked around for someone more important

Well, okay then, if he's tall and looked around for someone else....then you must do the deed.

:eyes:

8. Indeed.
I did an article on this here:

http://www.yestodemocracy.com/yes_to_democracy_no_to_pu/2008/08/note-to-pumas-.html#comments

If I might quote part of it:

"You know something, they're right in the sense that they "shouldn’t be going through this". And it is "shameful". But the blame for this mindset, this "they're all out to get us" attitude needs to be put squarely where it rightfully belongs - on the heads of Murphy, Larry Johnson, "Riverdaughter", "TexasDarlin", and every other PUMA and PUMA leader who has been feeding this cult of victimhood. THEY are the ones who have been causing this paranoia, THEY are the ones feeding this sense of "PUMA = victim". If they can make the PUMA followers scared and worried about their very safety, it makes them easier to manipulate and control. If they can keep PUMA followers feeling like they're victims and martyrs being attacked by Obama/Dean/DNC/whoever, then those followers are more likely to want to feel safer by believing the myths and lies - and less likely to question the party line.

I'm glad the person was safe and sound. But this doesn't explain - or excuse - the blinding paranoia that automatically assumes something bad happened because they're a PUMA.

Is it that PUMAs feel this constant need to make themselves out as martyrs for the cause? Or is it the leaders that find it's easier to manipulate and control if they can scare them and make the PUMA followers feel like martyrs for the cause?"

22. This HAS to be a GOP set up, as the exact same words have been used against Kerry in the past
this goes back to when BushInc operatives were planting stories against Kerry and his character when he was investigating and exposing their illegal operations in IranContra and BCCI matters.

At one point they even attempted planting cocaine in offices of Kerry's aides. Obama camp needs to be fully aware of the lengths they will go to smear him and his supporters.

I am a NOBODY but when I met Obama personally at an event several months ago, he made a point to speak to me and pose for a photo. He did the same with everyone else in the room. Hillary Clinton was equally gracious when I met her a few weeks later.

This is a LIE. People who get that far know how to conduct themselves with people who can ruin them in the press later. She is full of crap.

It seems like every time they're brought up, the usual folks swarm and tell us there are only like 10 of them or something. Or that they're all republicans. I'm just not so sure about that. If we ignore them, we could be in for a nasty surprise. If we don't ignore them we're giving them attention that they don't deserve. I'm at a loss to know how to act.

38. Jason at it again today.....this is blowing my mind.
Obama Is Still the Enemy

BTW, that "secret" meeting got moved so much that the bloggers had trouble keeping up with them. Last I heard it was more like 60 of them, and they moved to another secret place.

Ms. Fasano volunteered for the campaign and attended the D.C. event where Clinton suspended her candidacy, crying "never, never" when the candidate asked her supporters to back Obama. "I've got to do everything I can to make sure he never sees the inside of the oval office," she said. "Right now the PUMA people and the No Deal people, we have been trying to get Hillary on the ballot. After August, our mission will be to do everything to make sure that Obama doesn't win."

Ms. Fasano, 62, wanted to hear the strategy first hand at the secret meeting in Washington on August 9, but with her sole income coming from disability payments, she said she would save her money and energy for a trip to Denver in August. She said that most of her money goes to Clinton in one way or another, including the $25 she had just donated to get invited to an East Hampton fund-raiser for Clinton the following day East Hampton.

"It would help me if I could really talk to Hillary," she said in a heavy Brooklyn accent. She planned to attend, but wasn't optimistic about her chances of scoring any face time. "If she could tell me what she really thinks, it would make me feel a little better. It wouldn't make the sadness go away. It kills me to hear her talking about Obama. It kills me. It's like a knife in my heart. He's the enemy.

Another fundraiser with them? Hillary is quite aware of these groups.

I read a remark from a DNC committee member today that, a founder of the DLC, but a supporter of the 50 state plan. She is now supporting Obama. She said this, very upsetting. I am trying to keep it in perspective.

It’s very, very possible (Clinton could get nominated). She has many votes,” said Elaine Kamarck, a member of the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee and a superdelegate who endorsed Clinton during the primary. She has since switched her support to Barack Obama . She teaches at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.

She said it depended on what the two campaigns could work out.

It sounds to me like Obama has to give them whatever they want, and Dean must take whatever they dish out to him.

Even if she's blowing smoke up our skirts, she cashes in on the chaos this uncertainty breeds. So, it's all good for her.

I'm tired of the Clinton Kabuki Theater. I dare her to light it up. At this point, I'll take the silver lining when she loses, again, and the cost for that kamikaze move is her future in politics.

Don't piss around in the shadows poking the process with sharp sticks with innuendo and a blind eye. Bring it. And then we will finally be done with this whole mess once and for all.

For Darragh Murphy to say the Democrats need to be destroyed. The only FEC donation listed for her is for McCain in 2000. Nothing for Gore, despite her claims she supported him, nothing for Kerry and zilch for Clinton. There is however her support for the RNC Front PUMA PAC. Which has the same founding supporters (but no registered link) as the other RNC front PAC The Denver Group.

Larry Johnson, who runs nothalfbigoted is an ex CIA Operative, who got his job because of his Republican contacts.

IOWNMYVOTE, claiming to be Hillary supporters proposed the draft as part of their proposals for the DNC Platform.

I feel sorry for any real democrats who have been convinced by them but the reality is they are nothing but extremist bigots and although small in number are dangerous because of the hate they stir up. The same articles repeated across their blogs. Nothing new just a different way of spreading the same despicable articles.

I really do hope that the Security Services are watching IncontinentDaughter, TexasHag, et al. I do not trust them at all.

54. Paranoid much? Reminds me of my ex-girlfriend.
We were both smokers, and we took breaks about the same time. That's how we met. After we broke up, she accused me of "stalking" her because I took my smoke break when she did.

Hello?

71. Me Paranoid?
Probably. The PUMA sites do however make the KKK look liberal, whether I am paranoid or not and their FEC records are easily researched.

56. I can't stand these people
I visit NoQuarter every so often. I really shouldn't because those people send me into a rage. I don't know if they're Republicans posing as Democrats or if Hillary drugged these people. They call Obama supporters cult followers and yet they're still campaigning for someone who DROPPED OUT of the race and is supporting the other guy. I mean, these people are total freaks.

Blame Harold Ickes. All of the disgraceful arguments they use were put forward by him

61. Now who would think anyone with the last name Lieberman would
do things to destroy their party while running around telling everyone they were actually trying to save it? That's just ludicrous.

76. crazy shit
I saw the loons on Dan Abrams. The PUMA girl said this was about control of the Democratic Party and the DNC. Very revealing.

I think she's absolutely right.

Obama and Dean are in charge, and apparently that is making some people a little cranky. I would like to think the Clintons would put the heavy foot down on the fringe loons, but after Bill's less than glowing endorsement of Barack last week, clearly that would be too civilized. Instead we get to see how the Clinton Convention plays out before we can move into the general election. If this thing is a Trojan Horse coup attempt, it will fail. I am confident Barack would not leave something like this to chance. And then it's over. Finally.

77. I am very disgusted.
Dean is taking the fall for what the Clintons have done. People in my area of this state still blame him for everything.

The Clintons could stop that.

79. The whole FL and MI thing was twisted and used as a weapon
by the Clintons. I was happy that Obama's surrogates (Wexler for FL and that other guy for MI ;)) at the Bylaws meeting were able to dispel the lies told about that whole thing. Obama and Dean were crucified by that faction in the most disingenuous way thanks to the Clintons. Worse, she completely fudged on the agreement she made regarding the disposition of those states and cast herself in the role of victim.

I don't trust the Clintons as far as I can throw them and I don't give a rat's ass if that upsets the delicate constitutions of some here. They earned all the bad feelings that exist as a result of this race. Every one of them.

Barack has been gracious and at the very least they could show him some goddamn respect. Same for Dean. They are working their assess off to put a Democrat in the White House. The party needs this nonsense like it needs a hole in the head.

I'm just attending the night of Barack's acceptance speech in Denver. I gave away my tickets for the previous three days. Just going with the flow in a way that works for me.
