24. It's worse. I think this should start rumors of an Obama-Kristol ticket
Worse yet, what if they mispell Bill Kristol's name and we end up with this man a heartbeat away!

3. If he had resigned instead of going to the UN to carry
water for the BFEE, his endorsement would be welcome.

It may go over well at the Dem Covention

very popular.

9. This was touched on months ago
Powell was lying in wait to see if Obama would win the nomination. He didn't stump or endorse and Republican candidates this time out.

Apparantly since the bigots in the Republican Party have put their white sheets on a lot of minority Republicans are jumping ship.

Remember, Chuck Todd was POSITIVE Hagel would be the keynote speaker at the Dem convention--these guys have a poor track record.

15. I highly doubt it ...
He could have stood up to W ... but chose to catapult the propaganda ...

He could have had a place in Clinton's cabinet ... but he chose to leave ...

I doubt he'd lose his cushy status as one of the few "African-American" Republicans ...

19. And there's more
He started out his career helping to cover up the My Lai massacre.

"Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is *his* policy and he has stated opposition to gays serving openly in the military.

He was silent while his son attempted to loosen FCC ownership restrictions that would have given him huge profits off his Time/Warner stock.

He stood by to lend legitimacy to the 2000 election by turning up at Bush's ranch while Bush was putting together a cabinet (a WAR cabinet) while the recount was still going on.

The last item alone should disqualify him for even being ALLOWED in the Democratic convention, much less to be given status as an endorser or speaker.

16. Yay! An endorsement from a war criminal.
It will taint the party if he's even there, in any capacity.

He should be in jail.

Powell's endorsement would help in Obama's appeal to independents and disgruntled repukes.

23. Kristol has no personal insights on Powell. He may turn out to be right, but...
... all you get out of Bill Kristol opinion pieces are shudder-worthy glimpses into the working of his paranoiac psyche.
