She wants to spoil the nomination for Obama.

4. 8 votes for 'nice way to honor her' and 8 votes for 'open your eyes fool'
looks like DU is split. At least at this point in the polling.

We will see...

interesting.

5. I think there's several different agendas here.
The Clintons are glorifying themselves. If they weren't, they wouldn't be asking for two nights of the convention. Now that's goddamn egotistical, but it doesn't mean they're trying to steal the nomination.

On the other hand, the pharma-funded kitty cult is trying to do exactly that. The idiots who buy into this nonsense maybe completely delusional, but those ACTUALLY pulling the strings of PUMA are completely serious. They want to derail the nomination and force the superdelegates to run screaming to Hillary. Are any of the superdelegates that fucking stupid? I sincerely hope not. But you never know, especially when it comes to DLC'ers. :(

Then there's the Larry Johnson CIA thug factor. They want chaos. They want bloodshed. They want Chicago 68 on steroids and crack. What will they do to get it?

10. There is nothing the Republicans would like better than to see riots break out
in Denver.

Even if they have to stage them themselves!

6. After her shameless switch on FL and MI, she has proved her word is worthless.
She is practicing her surprised look in the mirror for when her minions refuse to accept Obama as the nominee and raise a holy shitstorm at the convention.

I'm giving my convention tickets away today. I can catch that bullshit on TV from home.

11. It doesn't matter to me one way or the other, but...
...I think it says a lot about her, and more importantly, a small group of her supporters, than it does about anything else. If they need their pat on the back moment to do what's right then so be it, but it's fucking sad they need it in the first place.

I've never seen a campaign so drenched in victimhood.

13. I don't think they seriously plan to "steal" anything
but I do think that if it creates division, or the appearance of division, appears to puts her on an equal footing with the nominee in the eyes of the public or otherwise rains on Obama's parade well... that's probably okay with them.

14. In retrospect, maybe the smartest thing to do is to enter Kucinich's name
in nomination and then VOTE FOR HIM. Based on everything I've seen so far I truly believe he was the best choice by far for those truly desiring real change in America and Honest Government.

16. Ha Ha ......
A poll here at DU with HRC as the topic, is like Faux News doing a poll on evolution vs. intelligent design. Here's a hint of the irrational. Say HRC pulls it off, and somehow carries the convention. That would make her the Democratic Nominee. How many anti-Hillary voters would set their feelings aside, and vote for her? Very few, if any I'd guess. But let's not stop it there, as it is obvious to anyone but the choir, that if HRC had won the nomination in the first place, the groups popping up would make PUMA look like a litter of baby kittens. That's the reality some Obama supporters cannot face. If HRC somehow pulls off what many here are terrified of, it won't be because of HRC, but rather Obama's inability to retain the confidence of those who put him where he is. Unlike many here, I will vote for the Democratic nominee, whoever it is, and if it happens to be her, we will see Clinton haters living what they have lambasted since the primaries ended. When Obama offically becomes the nominee, I'll thank the Grand Poobah, that I will be free of that particular burden. Thanks.

17. The first option.
I hate to disappoint some folks here, but Hillary is NOT Angela Lansbury in "The Manchurian Candidate". She's not some diabolically evil person out to seize the nomination.

This will be a nice gesture to her supporters, who will then enthusiastically support our nominee, Barack Obama, in November.

Hillary Clinton will cast her SD vote for Obama. I'm fine with this.
If Hillary Clinton herself votes for Obama, it's obvious she isn't trying to take the nomination.

and how those delegations will now be seated, and all the trash talk, and I worry.

21. The "trash talk" is played up by the media and stems from GOP efforts
Clinton and her supporters are Democrats. They support the nomination of Obama and are working to help get him elected. Anything else is noise generated by the GOP to create an appearance of division among the party to undermine our efforts.

22. Other.
People who need a "catharsis" or "closure" should go to a therapist, or join a 12-Step Group. The Democratic Convention is ALL about getting Obama elected in November. It is NOT the proper venue for a bunch of self-absorbed whiners to work through their hurt feelings.

Anything that takes the spotlight off of Obama is divisive, and decreases his chances in November.
Does anyone really expect the rabid Hillary acolytes to just quietly go away after she loses the Roll Call vote?
A repeat of the PUMA debacle in Florida would be a disaster.
The Clintons KNOW this.
They ALSO know there is NO WAY they will be able to steal the nomination, and then get elected in November.

So the question is:
What do the Clintons hope to gain by causing a shit storm at the Democratic Convention?
