Biden, Bayh to Speak Wednesday at Democratic Convention

The two Senators– along with Gov. Richardson and Sen. Rockefeller– will echo Obama’s national security agenda in their Denver addresses.

Senate Majority Leader Reid will discuss Obama’s energy policy, veterans Rep. Murphy and Duckworth will lead a tribute to the troops. Sen. Salazar, Rep. Clyburn will also speak.

Obama’s still-unnamed veep will also speak Wednesday.

1. Head fake. The VP will be Clark. Bank on it.
They wouldn't give the theme the same name as Wesley Clark's PAC without a good reason.

5. I preferred Feingold but the name of the convention theme convinced me.
Rachel Maddow also seems to be the only MSM commentator who figured it out.

8. Who does Rachel think it is?
The Veteran's theme could imply Kerry as well, or Reed.

7. eh, still think that they could just be using that as a theme, without Clark as VP
, even though it's his PAC's name. but I would lovveeee for that to happen!

9. And Clark said he's got a dinner in Milan scheduled for that night.
Said he might not even be at the convention. Said he'd have to "see what happens". Rachel Maddow tried to pin him down and he wasn't having any of it. ;)

15. Please God, let us hope so.
And since you're a Biden fan, let me qualify that.... I have no problems with Joe in a cabinet position like Secretary of State, for which he is extremely qualified. But I see his support of that horrid bankruptcy bill as a huge liabilty if he were on the ticket, given the current economic crisis, and the fact that life will be considerably harder for those who are now, and who will be, screwed by the Chimponomics in the years to come.

I don't need to qualify my objections to Bayh. He's a DLC puke. What more needs to be said?

16. There are several who'd make me happy
Biden, Clark, Schweitzer, Feingold, maybe Richardson or Dodd or Kerry.

11. I got to hand it to Obama--these speaking assignments will have the press scratching their heads
as if nobody who is slotted for another speaking spot can possibly be the VP nominee.
