When there is a rollcall at a convention
When it reaches the state that puts the victor in the primaries over the top, a motion is then made from the floor to make it unanimous.

There is an enormous, sustained roar from the crowd and tens of millions of Americans watch on television as the party comes together right in front of their eyes.

It's called theater, folks. The modern day convention is a television show meant to launch our candidate into the fall race with as much buzz and genuine excitement as possible.

Too bad some of you don't trust Senator Obama enough to realize that he understands both history and political stagecraft better than you do and is making exactly the right decision.

1. I trust Senators Obama AND Clinton...
but if the chest thumping PUMA's that were on Hardball tonight are at all representative of the tone that will be set at the convention, perhaps it is a pipe dream to hope what you described above will come to pass...

3. It will be interesting which state they use to put Obama over the top
Virginia would be an interesting choice, maybe Wisconsin or PA.

4. It often goes to the candidate's home state
Illinois might pass, when it comes to them. Then the state that would put him over the top numerically defers to Illinois and lets them vote and put him over.

But, you're right, they may choose another state for political purposes.
