Alternate names for the "mainstream media."
I like corporate media and M$M. Any other good ones? Because they are anything but mainstream.

I like both your suggestions and hope people can come up some that are more negative :-).

Like:

Ministry of truth press
Shill press
Corpo fascist press
Propaganda mill media

etc.

Corporate media describes them accurately. Calling them "mainstream" gives them a legitimacy that is not deserved. We need to stop using that term for these ho's who sold themselve to the fringe right in this country.

If anything, the term suggests people don't thik for themselves. As if 300,000,000 Americans all have a consnsus on the issues.

I hate the term "Mainstream Media" just as much as I hate the term "Centrist" and "Independent voter". Not to mention juxtaposing these people with "undeciuded voters". As if these people are not capable of thinking outside the box.

24. I think "The Corporate Media" is the most accurate, so it's what I use.
I never really cared for "MSM", expecially since it originated on the Right as part of their canard that the media has a liberal bias.

Some years ago, back in the early days of Lefty Blogs, someone coined the term "SCLM" -- "So-Called Liberal Media" -- as an alternative to "MSM". I liked it a lot, but it never quite caught on. So these days I stick with "Corporate Media" or "Corpo-media".

I love the ministry of propaganda, too, which someone else suggested and could be MOP :-)

it's weird that this topic was started because last night I was thinking about what msm could stand for other than what it does stand for. like...mediocre sell out moran -- but these ideas are sooo much better!!!!
