1. Here is the photo.

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., relaxes with his puppy V.C., while stationed in the Mekong Delta in 1969, during the Vietnam War. The controversy over the Vietnam war record of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry has trained a fresh light on one of that conflict's lesser-known episodes _ the operations of America's 'Brown Water Navy' in rivers, canals and mangrove swamps of the Mekong Delta. 7. So what are the Moonie Times suggesting?
That the puppy in the photo is not a real dog, but a cut-out of a dog made to look 3 dimensional??

Maybe it was a stray he got friendly with, but didn't keep. And does he have any pets now?

5. Yes
Kerry even rescued a puppy, Victoria Charlotte, or VC. His crewmates bought it from villagers who were planning to cook it for dinner. "Once the bullets started flying, he'd put the dog in his flak vest against his tummy," said Sandusky. "In the middle of an ambush, she'd start shaking and she'd pee on him." Until today, the puppy stars in Kerry's war stories. Kerry's daughter, Vanessa, 27, explained: "He wanted there to be a good VC."

4. Here's Del Sandusky talking about the puppy
"Like every group of American kids far away from home, we adopted a puppy, a squirming little bundle of tail-wagging joy, very likely headed for someone's dinner table. He became part of our crew, and eventually, a pretty good watchdog. When he was still little, when we went on missions, John Kerry would tuck him inside his flak vest to keep him safe. He was just like all the rest of us - a sailor, sitting around, drinking a beer, one of the guys." -- Del Sandusky

29. YOU are defending two really dumb claims
First, that every single event that occurred in Vietnam when Kerry was there is posted on his website, whether he was injured or earned a medal or not, which is obviously not the case;

And second, that the absence of mention of "any dog" in official Naval records on his site is significant. I guess you think "dog tags" were Navy IDs issued to dogs?

?

Now they're supposed to be so far apart that a dog couldn't make it from one to another, whether he landed directly or swam part way or was fished out by the other sailors? It's just hard for you to believe such a thing could happen, if the Moonies are telling you otherwise, right?

But no doubt you still believe Bush "served admirably," right? Riiiiiight... :eyes:

Hey silly rightwingnut. How come bush said "I served in the US Air Force"...but the USAF says that's false?

How come bush said "I continued to fly for several years" when actually he was permanently grounded 22 months after he got his pilot's license?

How come bush said we invaded Iraq because "Saddam wouldn't let the UN weapons inspectors in" when the entire world knows perfectly well the UN weapons teams WERE IN Iraq and it was BUSH who kicked them out?

Sounds like a few WHOPPERS there from your loverboy bush. ;)

There's no mention of "Alpo" on the Kerry website! Navy records show dog food wasn't issued (contrary to opinions of some soldiers and sailors)!! So there couldn't have been a dog, it would have starved!! What crazy whopper will Kerry come up with next?!

1. Not every mine, firefight and ambush is posted on the Kerry site.

33. Did you see the size of the dog? We had a case here not too long ago
where a small dog was thrown out of a car during an accident, traveled across several lanes of traffic and landed unharmed on the side of the road, and promptly ran off - was found later. Being blown off a boat and landing on another boat doesn't sound any more "miraculous" than that. As for Al Gore - sounds like you drank the Republican Kool Aid on that one also. The "Al Gore is a liar" meme was a Bush campaign talking point, nothing more.

that issue being, "who loves puppies".

And people wonder why only 1/2 the population even bothers to vote in elections anymore?

Given the decline of this race into inanity (that it, the condition of being inane-- as in pointless), I'd have to agree with them.

Thank you, whoremedia, for keeping out attention focused on the PRESSING ISSUES that face us today-- like whether or not John Kerry had a puppy in 'Nam 35 years ago.

If it gets the story of V.C. the puppy out there, and that pic, it can only do Kerry a world of good.

Puppy lovers are a political force to be reckoned with! ;-)

*******

********

Kerry, the Congressional Record, 1971:

"Mr. Kerry: Well, Senator, frankly it does not appeal to me if American men have to continue to die when they don't have to, particularly when it seems the Government of this country is more concerned with the legality of where men sleep than it is with the legality of where they drop bombs. (Applause.)...

...But at the present moment that is not going to happen, so we are talking about men continuing to die for nothing and I think there is a tremendous moral question here which the Congress of the United States is ignoring...

...But I think if we can talk in this legislative body about filibustering for porkbarrel programs, then we should start now to talk about filibustering for the saving of lives and of our country. (Applause.)

And this, Mr. Chairman, is what we are trying to convey."
