I received this email from Bill Clinton today
I received this email from Bill Clinton today

Dear Steve,

I have played so many roles at so many Democratic National Conventions. I've been there as a campaign worker, a governor, a keynote speaker, a nominee, a president, and a former president.

But no convention is quite like your first. There is nothing like seeing for the first time so many people in one place working toward one common purpose: electing the next Democratic president.

It's an inspiration, and you don't want to miss it if you have a chance. So I hope you'll take Hillary up on her offer and contribute by midnight tonight for a chance to attend the Denver convention in person. You'll get to see Hillary speak on Tuesday, and Barack Obama -- the next president of the United States -- on Thursday.

And I hear Hillary and you will have a chat -- I'll make sure to stop by.

Enter before midnight tonight for a chance to see me, Hillary, and Barack Obama at the convention in Denver next week!

Join Hillary in Denver. Contribute today.

I know you've always been there for Hillary, and she needs you now as she works to pay the small vendors who helped us during the campaign. Hillary's not going to stop fighting for the issues we all care so much about, and she's going to need you all the way.

And if you contribute before the midnight deadline, you might have the chance to join Hillary and me in Denver next week for a truly exciting and historic convention. You're going to get to see an amazing display of Democratic unity in person -- you don't want to miss it.

Contribute before midnight tonight for a chance to join me and Hillary in Denver next week.

Thanks for all the support and help you've shown to Hillary. I can tell you that it means the world to her.

Sincerely,

Bill Clinton

10. The way Barack is mentioned is as if he is an afterthought.
Hilary and me... me and Hilary... Hilary and me... Oh, and by the way Obama is running for president. But, Hilary and me... me and Hilary... Hilary and me...

I use to have a lot of respect for the Clinton's, but the more and more I see stuff like this, my respect for them dwindles. I wish they could use the same energy to support Barack that use to derail his run.

7. It sounds to me like the purpose of the email is to help Hillary pay off her
outstanding campaign debt. In that context it isn't surprising that Obama's name is not emphasized. I don't think it means anything underhanded is being planned for Denver by either of the Clintons.

12. It is. But I believe that the email addresses must have come
from the Obama campaign. Because my email addy is not one that anyone else had access to. I take this as a sign that the 2 camps really are working together and that's great.

14. I'm pretty sure they have exchanged campaign information. I'm receiving
emails and regular mail from the Obama campaign and I never signed up for that at his website.

15. So AG, we're on the same wave length about this and on the same
data base. :)

I'm so much happier now that they seem to have worked everything out. I have pledged to be positive and it's so much easier than I ever thought it would be.

You see, I'm a worrier at heart. That's my nature. But it looks as if all the potential pitfalls have been taken care of. And heck, they even did it without consulting me, heh heh.

19. I'm just guessing, but I think that part of their negotiations probably involved
exchanging their databases of supporters. It only makes sense that the nominee would want access to the names of all Democratic supporters.

5. $1 a piece and she could pay her vendors and
most of her own loans.

Its what is called soft support.

6. Dubai royals (BCCI thugs) gave Bill $20mil earlier this year, why doesn't he use that illgotten
money to pay off those small vendors?

8. Maybe she has and maybe they are sending their donations to Obama now.
Did you ever consider that possibility?

17. Let's be positive about this. The 2 camps have exchanged
email lists, which means Obama supporters are now getting emails from Hillary. I got one last week. And Hillary supporters are getting emails from Obama, also asking for donations. Plus, they're getting campaign information like how to volunteer and stuff.

When the GE is over, I will donate to Hillary. I've already pledged the most I can afford between now and then to Obama. But after the GE, I'll pony up for Hillary.

11. I got one like that from Hillary a couple of days ago. And....
it actually is a good sign. My name would not be on any email list that Hillary had previously. So, I believe the email addresses came from the Obama camp.

And I'm totally okay with that. I believe that Hillary and Bill need to know that it's all good now. It's time we let go of the primaries and started acting like one party again.

If Hillary and Bill are welcomed by us with open arms, they'll campaign so much more effectively than they would have otherwise.

16. There are 2 things at work here. One is that Hillary now has
the email addresses of Obama supporters. The second is that Obama now has the email addresses of Hillary supporters.

Let's view this as a wonderful example of the 2 camps working together. I'm sure that some folks won't be able to donate to Hillary until after the GE. And she knows that. But now she has access to a lot of wonderful democrats who will help her in the end.

And Obama can now send emails to folks who were on Hillary's data base. This is good for us.

18. Why this last minute push to retire her primary debt? Is it because money she takes in starting
next week will go towards something else? If nothing about her status was going to change next week, then next week, after the convention would be the logical time for Bill to send out a request for money to help her retire her primary debt, when Dems have seen her speak and everyone is full of party unity.
