George Carlin got it right: If life begins at conception.....

Why do expectant couples say they have "2 children with one on the way" instead of "3 children?"

1. So if a women has a miscarriage....
...is this now a legal issue subject to the jurisdiction of the probate court? Seems like the world according to McGarp would make it so!

funeral after a miscarriage. And, if a woman who was pregnant (and didn't even know it) engaged in risky behavior like smoking or drinking or anything else, did she commit murder or manslaughter if she miscarried?

26. What a freaking can of worms this bullshit about "life begins at conception" causes.
I like the question below about if a women dies in childbirth, can the fetus be tried for murder?

After all, with rights come obligations!

31. Carlin wondered about miscarriages....
If a fetus is a human life then if a woman has a miscarriage, why don't they have a funeral?

13. I loved that line!!! It is especially telling that the repubs constantly cut
the school budget, and support insurance companies throwing children, especially handicapped children off of health insurance. And when I lived in republican areas of the country my whole family was treated badly because we had a handicapped daughter. Give me a knee jerk liberal any day of the week.

6. Also from George Carlin:
Why is it, when it's US, it's called "abortion", and when it's chickens, it's called "omelets"?
In all seriousness though, why, if you believe in the "culture of life" do these repukes love the death penalty? Why is it perfectly OK to invade a country that did us no harm, and kill hundreds of thousands of people?

more consistent if they cared about anyone who had actually been born.

Pro-life my ass, pro-birth/anti-life would be more accurate.

17. On a very personal note here...
If a woman miscarries there is no funeral.

One other thing about life beginning at conception. So a woman can be pregnant for quite a while before knowing it. She might be smoking and/or drinking during that time without having a clue that she could be harming her fetus. And usually everything is okay in the end. But sometimes the fetus is harmed by activities the mother does before she knows.

So, if that fetus is a "person" and a miscarriage results, has she committed murder? Has she committed manslaughter?

So, you see, it's not just control of a woman's reproductive life that could be at issue, but control over everything a woman of childbearing age does.
