Is Obama Tiger or MJ?
First off, I'm not making this comparison because of race, but I recognize it could be misunderstood that way if not for this disclaimer. Yes, Obama and Tiger and MJ share similar pigmentation, but so what?

Jordan and Tiger were/are the best, and I contend Obama is as well. They're all uniquely gifted and talented like no other contemporary in their respective fields. So that's where my analogy comes from.

For people who don't know, although Tiger pretty much started winning as soon as he hit the tour, Jordan didn't start winning championships in basketball. Indeed, although Jordan was widely heralded as the best player in the game, in the 80s he couldn't win. It wasn't until the 90s that Jordan's teams became dominant.

So, my feeling is that Obama is here to stay on the national radar regardless of the outcome in November. I think it's obvious he's the best politician of our time. I know it just by listening to him, just like I knew Tiger was the best golfer and Jordan the best basketball player when I saw them play.

The question in my mind is whether Obama will win right away. Is he so good that he just can't be beaten, like Tiger? Or is he more like Jordan may take more than one attempt? Right now he looks like Tiger, but what do you think?

I don't think so...okay, I sure as hell hope not!

Sorry, comparison to Kobe is not such a great image...surely he (Barack) has more going for him than his body.

8. Come on. Those allegations were false!
Kobe did commit adultery but that's about it. And I think he felt awful about it.

22. that too was unproven
all of it is hard to know. I think OJ killed Nicole and that Clarence Thomas sexually harrassed Anita Hill but all of that was unproven too.

11. OK, takin' that one back ... but Kobe was MVP this year so ...
I hope Obama excels in his own field to the same extent.
(And, BTW, it was never proved he raped her.)

17. if the number of people I registered to vote
this weekend says anything. Yes, he is.

My unofficial poll is about 100 to 2 and if foreigners could vote it would be about 110 to 2.

18. Especially coming from someone who told gay people to "bother Obama after the election"
about their issues.

And then she posts an OP about what sports star he reminds her of.

9. Neither
Barack is more politically aware and isn't afraid to state his views.

I would say Barack was more old school like the coolness of Dr. J and the intelligence of Bill Russell and the flyness of Walt Frazier.

If you have to pick a current player I would say Alonzo Mourning or Dwayne Wade.

14. I appreciate the Clyde ref.
Long-time Knicks fan here. :)

I say give Obama until after Labor Day - he may reveal his inner MJ to us.

The thing about MJ is he was relentless and would stop at nothing to beat you. Hell, he was best friends with Pat Ewing off-court, but he showed The Big Fella no mercy whatsoever on the floor.

I'm hoping for O as MJ. I wanna see an ass-whuppin'. :)

It was a happy moment when Iverson dunked on his ass. Plus he has the morals of a Tomcat!

21. As a Knick fan, this one was even better.

Only because it was our Johnny Starks doing the dunking. :D

And I hear you about his morals. But there was a lot of that going around at the time - even Ewing got caught up in that Atlanta thing... not good for the sport, at all.

25. I've been too involved in the Spiderman sage.
Tiger is Mary Jane's pet name for Peter Parker while MJ of course is what he calls her. Thus your question raised some odd images -

Is Obama Spiderman or Spiderman's wife?
