So, as can be expected there are a lot of rumors floating around about who will be Senator Obama's pick for V.P. That being said, I have become increasing nauseated by the constant speculation on the part of the media. Likewise, I decided to conduct a search on news of vice-presidential picks back in 2004. An odd thing emerges, an odd pattern. You'll never believe some of the names that showed up then and are showing up now...

Boy... Reading this you'd almost think that the media punditry is talking out of their collective asses when it comes to V.P. speculation...
Kerry Steps Up Veep SearchJohn Kerry is intensifying his top-secret search for a running mate after meeting with one top candidate, Rep. Dick Gephardt, in a secluded Capitol office...
The Kerry-Gephardt meeting came as another candidate, Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack, made the rounds in Washington but refused to say whether he was meeting with Kerry.
Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas, a Democrat touted by some party officials as a potential candidate, also was in Washington with Vilsack. She said she was not meeting with Kerry...
"The vice presidential nomination almost always doesn't go to the person who the people most expect. That doesn't bode well for John Edwards," said Steve McMahon, adviser to former Kerry rival Howard Dean.CREDIT:

Starting to see a pattern development here, folks? Seems like the media loves to put up certain names. I'd be very interested in knowing how long this has been going on and whether or not they're ever right. It seems that the just mention all possible candidates until they get it right. Hell, what's that saying about a broken clock?
Let's bring this discussion to the present, what names do we keep hearing time-and-time again? Sebelius, Kaine, Biden, Bayh... I think Obama is going to pull a wild card or at least someone who has been widely discounted (or counted out) by the media. Our guesses are as good as theirs, yes?
This last one is kind of a breathe of fresh air. I'd be seriously worried if our guy was considering McCain... What's the point of posting this? It's two-fold actually. It shows how blatantly wrong the media often is, and it serves as a reminder to not buy into the hype! Our focus should be on preparing to get this country back on track by electing Barack Obama and whomever he chooses as a running mate -- even if we disagree with that running mate on key points. None of the names mentioned thus far are anywhere near as bad as McCain.
