Clues points to Kaine?
It is in the NYT's that Obama will anounce his VP pick Wednesday.

Probably early in the day to take full advantage of the news cycle.

Where do you think he winds up at the end of the day?

Yep....... Virginia.

Things that make you go hummmm

By the way, my choice is still Richardson.

3. I Hope he picks someone with more experience.
Richardson or Biden bring lots.

Richardson might bring a Red State or two with him.

7. actually the convention schedule points to Kaine
Every single elected official that was considered for VP has a speaking spot except Kaine who was the first elected official to support him.

If your thinking Clark was omitted because he is in the running I doubt that, he was omitted because he is not an elected official and while getting a speaking spot might help him get his pundit ticket punched at FOX more often it is clear that they are using the convention to help elected officials score points with voters.

Now it is possible that Kaine will end up taking the spot of someone else who will be taking the VP spot but the likelyhood of Kaine not addressing the convention sometime is, IMHO, zero.

6. Richardson would be a very convincing choice.
Despite his detractors hereabouts, I think Kaine would be also, owing to the practical reason of fighting hard for Virginia to take it away from the GOP and also because my hunch is that service to others will be definitional to Obama's campaign and presidency.

Kaine meets a lot of necessary criteria.

8. also go upthread and look at the list of convention speakers

Everyone has a slot except Kaine.

Is it likely that Obama is not going to give the first politician who sticks out his neck and endorses him a speaking spot at the convention? No.

It may be that they will slot Kaine in for Biden or Bayh when they are moved to the VP slot but as is the convention speakers schedule points to Kaine as well.

I don't know how strong Kaine is as a campaigner or TV presence but he helps Obama spread the electoral map more than anyone. A devout Spanish speaking Catholic from two swing states is going to give the McCain campaign a major headache and that is the reason that Rove came out so strongly against it.

9. I have my personal favorite but figure he will do it on the basis of all their inside tracking and
where it is going to fit in to make the candidacy the strongest and most appealable to the voters so on that, I have no idea who it is going to be. It appears according to the news cycle it is Biden, Bayh or Kaine
