sending Max Cleland to Crawford?"

This is EXACTLY what Kerry wants. He wants to make it clear he's not RUNNING AWAY from the Swift Boat Scum, he's turned his boat around and is steering it directly to AWOL's Crawford "ranch"

Terry Holt whined that Kerry campaign is engaged in a PR trick to try to put AWOL on the defensive. heh

1. Purchase a clue, Leslie
We don't want it to go away until Bush is wearing all the excrement on his suit.

13. Purchase a clue, Kerry
Get a team of libel lawyers onto Regenery Publishing ASAP. Let them do all the digging, all the dirty work, and all the publicity on all the scumbags involved with this thing, on the Bush team or off it.

DON'T let these assholes define you, and DON'T spend precious campaign funds and time refuting the.

SUE THE BASTARDS. You've got a great case, and it's time to move on to other things.

15. I disagree
A libel suit would be a waste of time and money and do nothing for Kerry politically. Kerry is turning the tables on Bush in a way that's strategically brilliant. And it's far from over, believe me.

19. The media is already defined
You can't let them and the Bush show run its course alone. That is never a win situation nor anything to attack indirectly or partially. You can't expect someone else to win your battles in THIS media playing field.

4. Read your Bible, Leslie
Jesus himself said that if someone compels you to walk a mile with him, go with him two miles. Kerry just wants to be absolutely sure that Bush receives the full measure of his due from this little smear campaign. I know this is the part you don't want to cover, Mr. Blitzer, but you set the terms and the tone. Don't start complaining now that the piper is playing too long to suit you.

5. Kerry Wants To Blow This Up Bigger Than Life
Bush wants scandal? He's got it, in spades.

Blow it up so big that it's seen for the disgusting, filthy smear it is. A giant maggot that will be forced down the throat of everyone in the country. Everyone will know exactly what's going on and who's responsible for the lies and filth. The GOP will choke on it and beg it to stop.

12. I love it
Kerry's strategy is not conventional. Most campaigns would try to kill a story like that immediately and end up in a tit-for-tat battle. Not Kerry. He let the smear out there until it had run its course and the Bushies thought they had won, and then turned it back on them with a counterattack that's going to get stronger as we go into the RNC.

17. Wolf thinks that surrender makes it "go away"; Kerry will make it go away
by beating on Bush and SBV until they crawl back into a hole--and Bush specifically calls the ads false. Kery is looking for the peace that comes from complete and total victory.

18. The Swift Boat story is an exploding cigar
which is about to blow up in Shrub's (and Leslie Blitzer's) face. They thought they could smear Kerry and get away with it... that he'd issue some lame, whiny complaint and then try to change the subject (like previous Democratic candidates have tended to do, unfortunately). Not this time, suckers. Hoist with their own petard, non?

21. I think Blitzer also scored one point for our side
He made a remark/question to the Republican guy pointing out that one of these SBV's is a D.C. lawyer who knows all the info about the campaign laws, etc.; therefore, why did they need the Bush top lawyer?? Right there shows that these guys weren't honestly seeking clarification. In fact, they could have consulted a dozen other lawyers if the question was one of making sure no campaign laws were broken. Just circumstantial, huh, that they went to the top lawyer of the Bush campaign. The scum don't like being trapped in their pig slop. And Blitzer was in a semi-panic mode today.
