My LTTE to the New York Daily News...

Senator McCain continues to trumpet his support for last year's troop "Surge" in Iraq ("John McCain: Barack Obama tried to legislate Iraqi failure"), as a reason to vote for him, ignoring the bad judgement he showed in his support for invading Iraq in the first place. Perhaps he should serve as Secretary of Defense, and leave the strategic decisions to a more talented President?

I personally wouldn't ever want McCain as Defense Secretary, but I wanted to make a comparison between tactics and strategy in a form the Editorial Board seems to like (my reprint average with the DN is about 40%).
