Intellicast forecast for Denver for next week isn't as good as it was a few days ago

So I hope this is wrong. When I first posted that link, in response to someone's question about Denver weather in a topic a few days ago, the 10-day forecast went only through the weekend before the convention, and that weekend -- now this coming weekend -- was supposed to be sunny, with highs in the mid-80s and lows around 60.

Which sounded great, and I was hoping the good weather would hold for the entire week.

I just checked the 10-day forecast for Denver again, and now it's showing isolated thunderstorms for Saturday and Sunday (but the same temps predicted earlier), then mostly sunny on Monday, and partly cloudy Tuesday and Wednesday...and scattered thunderstorms for Thursday.

I hope this is wrong, and since the forecast just for this coming weekend changed so much in a few days, it's likely to be.

But this site does have one of the longer-range forecasts, 10 days instead of 5-7.

This story in the Rocky Mountain News today

http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/aug/19/settled-weather-predicted-start-dnc/

says that settled weather is predicted for the start of the convention, but it's too early to predict that Thursday's weather. The forecast models are "all over the place."

Any DUers going to Denver, especially for the acceptance speech, might want to keep an eye on the forecasts. I believe they're planning to start seating people in the stadium several hours before the speeches start. I don't know if they'll allow umbrellas in case of rain.

Just checked and they won't

http://www.denverpost.com/ci_10215919?source=rss

but ponchos and raincoats are allowed.

Just checked Accuweather -- they're predicting sunny and hot all four days of the convention (high of 94 on Thursday, 88-90 earlier in the week).

1. Personally, I think the spectacle of Obama speaking to 70,000 in the rain would be an awesome visual

4. Oh noes!
The possibility of rain!

Obama should build an enormous ark, and fill it with two delegates of every state.

I'm very concerned!

5. Well what do you expect? Many have been praying for rain........
And I'm guessing that if it does, they will take it as a "sign".

Now if those same folks would only pray for World Peace and health!

10. You didn't expect their prayers to have any effect on the weather, did you?
I didn't.

16. LOL! Well, when I first posted links to weather info a few days ago, the forecast looked better.
I've posted the AccuWeather link here, too -- they're predicting sunny, hot weather the day of the acceptance speech.

And I posted the Weather.com link, which is the same forecast as the one at Intellicast -- scattered thunderstorms.

I hope it won't rain, but I especially hope it won't hail.

Does the Obama campaign sell ponchos?

6. this is colorado, where the motto is "if you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes"
seriously, I have seen the forecasts change three times in half an hour. around here, "long-range" is anything past ten minutes.

today's forecast, as of 8 am, was clear and sunny--it is foggy and cool right now.

9. Our thunderstorms come and
go here. It's usually a brief rain. So don't worry. We have great weather. It's currently 80 degrees with a light breeze. There are people out on their boats on the lake about 10 blocks west of the stadium. I think you all will love the weather here.

13. AccuWeather is predicting Thursday will be sunny and hot -- 94 degrees. Just added that to the OP.
Here's the link:

The Rocky Mountain News story seems to be somewhere in between.
