Obama Uses "He" Pronoun When Discussing His VP

RALEIGH, NC -- Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, is almost always diligent about saying "he or she" when discussing his potential running mate.

But at a lively town hall meeting in the Tarheel State Tuesday evening, the senator -- who is expected to announce his vice presidential pick at the end of this week -- used a decidedly male pronoun.

Asked what his plan is to utilize his vice president as President Bush utilized his, Obama said, "Let me tell you first what I won’t do. I won’t hand over my energy policy to my vice president, without knowing necessarily what he’s doing."

What HE'S doing. Could be a reference to Vice President Dick Cheney -- to whom Obama is clearly alluding.

But, as I said, Obama is usually pretty careful about saying "he or she." And surely it hasn't escaped anyone's noticed that despite references to dark horse candidates such as Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, or Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, all three finalists -- Sens. Evan Bayh of Indiana and Joe Biden of Delaware, Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine -- are male.

Or (and this would mean that his 'I don't want it' announcement was a brilliant and diverting bit of political theatre) it could be Jim Webb.

And even if it isn't Clark, I'm sure Obama knows what he's doing and will make a good choice.

who's a "HE". That is all.

If Obama Farts, I wonder what that will indicate about his Veep? :shrug:

Tapper, Halerpin, Nader and the rest will be sniffing it out!

It would indicate that either the Veep have a low pitch voice or that he decided to pick Mr Bean.:P

In college one night out of boredom we made a drinking game out of "Guess Who?"

I'm pretty sure that question was used. It degraded into drunken raunch very quickly.

I don't want to share for fear of getting the granite pizza.

As in "I won't do like Bush and hand my energy policy over to Cheney without knowing what he's doing."

But if we want to play this out, and he was alluding to his own VP, then the choice is obviously Richardson, since he's talking about energy policy.

But, really, I think this is meaningless. Most likely he was referring to dickie.

Even Democrats make mistakes sometimes. We are not gods.

And I know people who refer to "you guys" when addressing females.
