CBS: Obama to announce his choice on Friday afternoon
CBS News has confirmed that Barack Obama's campaign now plans to announce Obama's vice presidential choice to supporters via email and text message on Friday afternoon. (This plan could change, of course.)

He will then appear with his running mate at noon the next day in Springfield, Illinois, CBS News chief political consultant Marc Ambinder reports.

1. Why on Friday and the first appearance on a weekend?
Seems like he'd get the most news out of it and a possible bump by announcing on Wednesday or Thursday.

could have been running the news cycle for a lot longer...wonder why they decided on Friday afternoon?

4. Is it possible he wants to move right into the Convention without giving the Slime machine time to
attack?

5. that can be the only possible explanation. This is bizarre to drag it out
but maybe he wants the fervor to be so intense for the first few days of the convention and climax during the final day of course. Also further limits McClowns sidestepping.

7. Odd Timetable - very odd
If this is true, we'll probably have to wait for the "Making of the President" type books after it's all over to find out the thinking behind this one.

11. Actually - I support a timetable, but if this and that, I would consider a slower withdrawl :)

13. That was my prediction
Now if I'm right on the vp pick (which I actually hope I"m wrong about), maybe I'll win a prize (as long as I pick the right tie).
