Weather Question
Edited on Tue Aug-19-08 09:58 PM by LostinRed
Remember that tool that said he was "praying" that it will rain during Obama convention speech? Well, I went on the weatherchannel.com to see if god answered his and his crazy followers "prayers" well they have a 10 day forecast and it says sunny on the 28th. How accurate is a 10 day forecast? Just curious.

PS Yes, I'm that bored

4. Then rain would be a GOOD thing, yes?
A positive omen?

When I used to attend scientific conferences, we were told at one location that they always loved it when we came to town, because every time we held a meeting there, it rained. And the area badly needed rain. (There were a lot of amphibian researchers in the lot, so it kinda made sense!)

So by all means, let the fundies pray for rain. It keeps them off the streets, and hey, maybe it'll even help.

5. 10 day forecasts are about the equivalent of 3 day forecasts from....
....30 years ago. The computer models have become hyperaccurate because of the data that is now available. For example, no meteorologist would have ever predicted the loop that TS Fay is currently forecast to take, but with the advanced modeling that is available to analysts, the National Hurricane Center can now post the track with a high degree of confidence.

Based on the 7-day surface forecast, Denver will be under a high pressure system, and clear skies, which will not abate anytime soon.

8. Well the weather has been nice this week. Its a bit cooler now.
We are not even getting those afternoon thunderstorms that we used to get. However it did rain pretty good on Friday and Saturday here.

I think we should be fine for the convention.
