I do get it that Obama and the Democrats are at the stage in the election
where they are not speaking to me, but rather than fencesitters, the elusive "undecided voter". I really do get it that they know they have my vote and in fact, they are right, they do have my vote. I'm not nor ever was, an undecided. What really mortifies me about the current, embarrassing level of discourse, as exemplified by the Rick Warren saddleback Jesus freakfest, is that it says so much about the average voter, the one who can barely be bothered to vote in a Presidential election, much less bother to be informed about important issues. Day after day, I hear the inane and insane pandering and I'm embarrassed to be an American. Yeah, I'll say it out loud, I'm embarrassed to be an American nowadays.

I'm not going to bitch, moan and complain about the various things that Obama et al, are doing and saying these days but I reserve the right to point and laugh at the ugly American. Now, when Obama takes the office, I am going to hold him and every damn prayer meeting Democratic fool to the highest standard. I will have no more of this absurd pandering. I need them to do a bit of governing for a while.

1. Now? over this?
Nothing going on in this campaign, Saddleback included, approaches even remotely, the outrage that has been the last 8 years. It seems to me that you are getting aboard the embarrassment train a bit late.

4. I got on board right after 9/11, when the stupid American was getting all nationalistic
This is just another big sting. It happens with each Presidential race these days. A race to the bottom to pander to the lowest common denominator, a common denominator that is scarily stupid.

2. I feel the same way. And I wouldn't mind as much...
If it were showing in poll results and favorable media coverage. But it's the same old story. Pander to people who are never going to vote for you, cause the people who ARE going to vote for you to lose heart and lose energy, and end up disheartening the people who would work for you, while still not winning over those others.

Again, I'd be fine with him doing this if it were working in any way.
