I don't want to sound like some conspiracy nut...
But this triangular relationship between Lobbyist/Foreign Policy Adviser Randy Scheunemann, GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain and the president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvilli is troubling on so many levels.

For instance, what if Scheunemann had come up with this incursion into Ossiettia as a way to help McCain when the media focus had shifted away from Foreign Policy, supposedly John McCain's strong point. Saakashvilli would have gone along with it even though he knew that Russia would come down hard on his country as a way to help get McCain elected president and Scheunemann to be in a position to really help out the fledgling democracy.

I'm not saying this could have happened I am just saying that given the cavalier way the GOP approaches the democratic process and couple that with the ruthlessly pragmatic way these people pursue power and money, something like this scenario is not out of the realm of possibility.

The players are in place. What if this is a real example of Wag The Dog...

1. Saakashvili already told the media that our government gave him the "green light"
to move on S. Ossetia. But, nobody paid attention to that.

I think the odds are 100%...and that's not to say that domestic politics is the ONLY reason for the provocation.

7. The best bet is to take it as a given
then try and figure out how the Dems can counter or limit this type of manipulation.
