McCain Campaign - Early Warning Signs of Facism - Disturbing Coincidence?
Edited on Wed Aug-20-08 10:20 AM by Median Democrat
I was listening on the news about the frequent invokation of the Nazis to attack critics of John McCain. Well, just as the RW charges of a "liberal media" are often used to obscure a very right wing biased MSM, I decided to look into the facism charge. Well, its rather disturbing. It makes you wonder where the Karl Rove's types learn their propaganda techniques. Sadly, we continue on this path despite Eight Years of Bush. Here is Laureance Britt's Early Warning Signs of Facism:

<>

1. Powerful and continuing nationalism
2. Disdain for human rights
3. Identification of enemies/scapegoats
4. Supremacy of the military
5. Controlled mass media
6. Obsession with national security
7. Religion and government are intertwined
8. Corporate power is protected
9. Labor power is suppressed
10. Didsdain for intellectuals and the arts
11. Obsession with crime and punishment
12. Rampant cronyism and corruption
13. Fraudulent elections
14. Rampant sexism

1. Sometimes when I get an idiotic
right wing email, I reply all with the 14 Signs of Fascism. Generally I don't hear back from the sender.

2. The Sad Thing Is . . .
Those folks who advocate adopting the GOP's political tactics don't understand what that entails. To embrace these smearing, xenophobic tactics, to a large extent you need to embrace that RW philosophy. Look at the 14 warning signs, and you will notice how consistent McCain's tactics are with these signs.
