OMG, have you seen the polls since the weekend?
Edited on Wed Aug-20-08 10:46 AM by ProSense
Obama is still leading:

Rasmussen 8/16-18/08
McCain 45
Obama 47

Times/Bloomberg 8/15-18/08
McCain 43
Obama 45

Gallup 8/15-17/08
McCain 43
Obama 46

Quinnipiac 8/12-17/08
McCain 42
Obama 47

Zogby/Reuters 8/14-16/08
McCain 46
Obama 41

link

A couple of caveats: Most national polls show Obama up, though a smattering are now showing a dead heat. What's more, Zogby's record is spotty this cycle. And the economy numbers seem a lot like an outlier, which makes one question the overall findings.

Not to mention that the Zogby poll was taken before the weekend. So the other polls, taken after Zogby's, show Obama leading.

2. I seem to recall Obama always having difficulties in polling over the weekend.
During the primaries, polls were lowest for him from Friday to Sunday.

3. McCain has the shut-in vote well in hand.
It would be interesting to see the average age of those polled.

Obsessing over poll numbers in august is not good for your blood pressure. That is all.

19. Naw, I got what you were saying 100%.
My crack about obsessing over polls was not aimed at you.

I always look for your posts, ProSense, because you never fail to live up to your screen name.

I was talking about the Doomsaying Drama Queens who are taking a Zogby poll (Zogby, for cryin' out loud!!) and using it as a pretext to roll out everything from Obama/Dukakis comparisons to attempts at creating Critical Mass for a Hillary coup d'etat.

You were crystal clear, even minus the 'sarcasm' smilie. I wasn't.

8. hey
if the polls bother you, realize that they aren't really counting the youth vote.

also, that you should probably be organizing right now with your friends to do some voter reg. to GTVO -

how about instead of Get the Vote Out -or- Get the Kids Out. GTKO.

If you live in a blue state, see if there is a red state near enough to drive a couple hrs and help out.

If we don't get the kids out, McCain has a shot. If we get them out en masse, these national polls mean shit.

because the kids aren't being counted in them.

14. Media did the same thing to Kerry
For a bunch of supposedly more intelligent people than the low-info voter - they sure don't seem to learn from history.
