Hillary :'I am beginning to wonder about John's state of mind'.
Edited on Wed Aug-20-08 11:51 AM by lamprey
I've known John a long lime. Over the last two months, at times he has been (pause) so unlike himself. No No - I am not saying John is suffering from anything. I'm sure he can hold up for another four years. He understands stress. He may be getting bad advice.

Or something along those lines. THATS how easy it is to knock McCain out of the race. A firestorm, putting 'Is McCain losing it' up front and center, with each deviation from his previous positions framed as mental deviation. Classic Gold(water).

Edited out direct quotes for those who are deliberately being obtuse.

be nice for it to be on the tongues of all the talking heads.

33. You mean what she's quoted as "saying" in the OP?
Or the "as far as I know" bit I added?

It's all speculative, silly-season stuff. Nothin' more.

Edited on Wed Aug-20-08 11:37 AM by highplainsdem
Why are you suggesting that Hillary Clinton launch the nastiest attacks on McCain, the ones most likely to lead to a backlash?

Btw, your OP's subject line is completely misleading, suggesting that Clinton has already made such a statement. You should correct it so it reads something like:

Hillary should say: "I am beginning to wonder about John's state of mind"

20. Oh, come on. You know there'd be a backlash if she said anything like that about McCain,
and you want her to be the one hurt by the backlash, while Obama benefits if anyone believes the attack.

Obama doesn't want it done. Not at this point.

It's fun to speculate though.

23. It is a legitimate question, and not a new one, based on this website:
One of the articles from Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain http://www.vietnamveteransagainstjohnmccain.com/

http://www.usvetdsp.com/mar08/mccain_manchurian.htm

excerpted quote: (from article dated March, 2008 - Ted Sampley)
McCain, the presumptive Republican candidate for President, who could one day have his finger on the "red button," claims the communists subjected him to 5 ½ years of nonstop indoctrination sessions so intense that he attempted suicide.

Unfortunately for McCain, after his bomber was hit by anti-aircraft fire near Hanoi on October 26, 1967, he parachuted into the hands of an evil communist enemy who 7 years earlier had adopted Soviet methods of prisoner interrogation.

At that time, the Soviets were perfecting techniques designed "to put a man's mind into a fog so that he will mistake what is true for what is untrue, what is right for what is wrong, and come to believe what did not happen actually had happened.

Psychiatric Journals are flush with reports concluding that former POWs may remain entangled in "harsh psychological battles" with themselves for decades after returning home including difficulty in controlling intense emotions such as anger and stress.

Is McCain taking any kind of pain or "nerve" medicines? If so, do the medicines cause emotional and physical reactions?

McCain was once treated for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) which is said to get worse over time for former POWs, what is the status of his treatment?

Does McCain still harbor stress triggered suicidal tendencies?"

the media is full on blitz trying to cast doubt on Obama. Wish she would say this, it would be perfect.

27. You'll never hear that from Hillary or Bill.
Just yesterday, Bill offset a nod toward Obama's energy policy with a tip of the hat to McCain's progressiveness.

:wtf:

I don't know why there are people out there who are convinced that Hillary Clinton is THE solution to the attack-dog problem against McCain.

Just when will she start? After she explains away her belief that both she and McCain have crossed the Commander-in-Chief threshold?

After she explains why she belives both she and McCain bring a "lifetime of experience" to the job where she belives Obama does not?

What makes you think she's suddenly going to go on the attack against her "good friend"?

The most she's been able to muster is "John McCain and George W. Bush are two sides of the same coin, and that doesn't amount to a whole lot of change." That's the big tagline she's used in two speeches now. Pithy, but hardly a stinging rebuke.

Sure, it would be easy to knock McCain off-kilter with the right words from the Clintons.

And plenty of their supporters say that the Clintons are exacting with their words.

So ask yourself...why hasn't Hillary thrown down yet? What is she waiting for?
