BUSH ADMITS TO SMEAR
That is basically what happened today folks.

Patterson admits that Bush/Cheney wrote the letter. Admits Bob Perry is a major contributor and that he is speaking for Bush. The letter supports the 527s and supports the vets "speaking out". The letter makes the SAME ACCUSATIONS IN THE SWIFT VETS ADS.

Hello media? Bush just admitted he is behind it.

1. Just like Bush
The media just can't seem to get nuance. Although in this particular instance it seems very black and white to me. I am just blown away every day how the media distorts and blatantly avoids their responsibility to report the truth.

Don't know why I continue to be surprised though-

5. I'd like to see a transcript of the actual letter.
So far I've only managed to catch a few excerpts on the cable news shows.

Bush says all Veterans have a right to be heard and Kerry should answer their questions, if I understand it correctly.

6. Several Impression...and they matter
Hopefully we'll see replays of Max Cleland in the wheelchair being turned away. A lot of people I know saw that today and couldn't believe what a chickenshit Bunnypants is not to send at least a senior staffer there, not some local dog catcher.

The impression now is that Boy Blunder is a gutless, out-of-touch dunce...that impression had always been there, it's stuff like this and the other goofs of this campaign that are now solidifying that impression. It's the reverse effect of what happened to Gore in 2000. Rove hasn't been able to paint Kerry as "liar" or "wooden"...while his boy is seen as "stupid" and "chickenshit" by millions.

The last few days have been the most devestating to the Rove machine in any campaign. They're in full damage control mode 24/7 now and they're stuck with a shrinking core of fundies, winguts and P-Nacers.

Dee Dee Meyers has a great column about this on Hardblogger...well worth the read.

7. Stop John O'Neill - Sic the Texas State Bar on Him

John E. O'Neill, author of Unfit for Command, is an attorney licensed and practicing in Texas. Rumor has it he thinks he will be appointed a federal judge...let's not let that happen.

Rule 8.04 Misconduct (a) A lawyer shall not: (3) engage in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation;

The State Bar can sanction him, suspend his license or even DISBAR him.

PLEASE WRITE, FAX, FED EX THE TEXAS STATE BAR TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THESE VIOLATIONS - including specific examples would be best:
