Bottom line is that I don't believe these polls now. Period.
I think that the polling setups are just as corrupted as most of the organizations that commission and run them. I think a myth is being created so the legend can be recorded. We don't play the game but change the rules. Period. I truly appreciate what Obama is trying to do and fully support him as he attempts to turn the system on itself. When the establishment squawks the loudest, you know he's hit target. What do I mean by that? Well, Cokie Roberts squawked. McCain squawks and squeals, William "the Bloody" squawks. Coulter just squawked again. Rick Davis squawked so hard his head nearly exploded. Pat Buchanan nearly choked while squawking recently. He won't let them define him or label him. And we should not let them do the same to us as supporters. The only label we should be seeking is that of American citizen. Yes, and the establishment of our own party squawked. This is how you clean house--the White House, House of Representatives, the Senate, state houses.... Need I go on?

I STAND WITH OBAMA!!!!

1. Believing them is not the point...
They are a preemptive strike so when they steal it they can point to the bullshit polls and create plausible deniability

8. exactly, and Obama's only course is to dominate news cycles and attack McCain's
authority and his irresponsibility.

9. Exactly right.
We can talk about polls all we want, but our ACTIONS should be aimed at preventing electoral fraud. They will pull out all the stops, from purged voting lists to unaccountable electronic vote machine tampering to lopsided allocation of voting machines to counting/not counting absentee ballots as best suits their purpose to unverified military ballots being introduced at the last minute -- every trick they've played over the last 8 years will pop up. And the 'polls' will be 'evidence' of the sudden change of heart of the voting populace, that the citizenry was uncertain about the changes Obama offered, that the citizenry trusted McCain's experience, blah blah blah.

I hope we're ready for the fraud that is coming. Cuz in a fair election, there's no way McCain could win.

21. If elections can be hacked, why can't polls be hacked?
America is being set up for another stolen election.

3. Good point(s). This is why we are always hearing "but we don't know
enough about Barack." Actually, they do know, how much more is there to know? They just can't label him with anything that sticks. I stand with Obama too.

4. 'I can't believe I'm losing to this idiot'
John Kerry.

Mr Kerry, now in sessions with a speech coach, grew increasingly frustrated. After a faltering press conference by Mr Bush in April, and with Iraq in turmoil, Mr Kerry exclaimed: “I can’t believe I’m losing to this idiot”.

14. I don't want him to deliver sound-bites. I want us to teach our fellow citizens
to quit hearing sound-bites and listen to what is being said. That is our job. I think he has the capacity to play the game as defined in the past, but he is electing not to sound or behave like the rest of them. That is fine with me.

Edited on Wed Aug-20-08 02:29 PM by cryingshame
it's how we operate. Every one of us.

And if Obama and his fucked up team can't come up with sound-bites to get his message out, we will lose.

19. OMG, I didn't realize I was dealing with some sort of "expert."
I thought I was expressing an opinion as to what I believe needs to change. Perhaps sound-bites are the problem and not the solution.

7. The polls are equally predictive whether they're fake or not
The thing about the polls is that they do tend too match the winner.

Perhaps they are indicative of what voters think. Perhaps they are previews of what some conspiracy will mandate the outcome to be.

But they are equally predictive of outcomes either way.

10. I stand with you!
I think we're being set up to believe this is another "close" election. IT ISN'T!

Obama is ahead by a LANDSLIDE!

(How many people do you know personally who are support McCain? See any McCain bumper stickers in your area? How about yard signs? Any McCain yard signs in your neck of the woods?)

However, when "they" try to steal it again, they'll need these bogus polls as "proof" that there wasn't a robbery!

Bottom line: IF McCain is declared the winner in November--I'm done with this country! I have worn a black bracelet (mourning Bush's win in 2000 and 2004). I want to ditch this thing--it doesn't go well with formal clothes when I attend a wedding (but I refuse to remove it until the clowns are removed from positions of power.)

12. it is the definition of likely voter that they are playing games with.
if you want to game the polls, just change who you label a likely voter. for lumpy grumpy to come out on top, use- voted in the last 10 elections without a miss. if you want obama to come out on top use- voted in the last 2 elections, and newly registered voters.
see how easy that is? i think that is what is going on here. you pay for a poll, they say what you want.

this sentence is right on target-
I think a myth is being created so the legend can be recorded.

13. I am prepared to devote my retirement time this fall 100% to Democratic Party.
There is no longer a loyal opposition Party in this country. Republicans have created a position you either support the founding principals of this Democracy or you support the neo-fascist state Republicans have created when they govern. Make no mistake when you promote Constitutional Rights in America (years 2000 - present) you are an enemy of the Republican Party. Radicals have seized the Republican Party time will show the extremes they will take to either maintain or return to power. There has never been a time the Republic was in greater danger (I include World War II and the Cold War).

Polls be dammed, I will do all I can to assist in the election of Democrats this fall.

15. I believe the polls
and they show that right now the electorate is trending toward McCain. So what? He had a whole week to himself with a big issue for the taking (Georgia). Soon, Obama will reclaim lost ground, and the same people freaking out are gonna be saying "Obama will win easily"
