Cindy McCain Lies About Meeting Mother Teresa
Edited on Wed Aug-20-08 06:38 PM by DangerousRhythm

And the http://features.csmonitor.com/politics/2008/08/20/watchdogs-make-it-harder-for-politicians-to-stretch-the-truth/">Christian Science Monitor called the campaign out on it, of all people.

Seriously? Why lie about this? Adopting a poor, sick child from Bangladesh and having her cleft palate fixed isn't a good enough story for her and the McCain campaign? Not enough of a WOW factor? This is sick. I thought the lies she told about her http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-weiner/mccain-family-recipes-lif_b_96666.html">plagiarized family recipes and then the http://www.seriouseats.com/2008/06/cindy-mccain-stealing-oatmeal-butterscotch-cookie-recipe.html">supposed cookie recipe incident were kind of silly but this is a bit more disturbing to me because it involves her daughter and the implication that merely adopting a child just wasn't good enough a story... didn't have enough zazz. That's just sad, and on the heels of the other story about http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=93708729">the sisters Cindy McCain refuses to acknowledge, it's becoming downright bizarre.

The latest embellishments come from the McCain camp. Cindy McCain has repeatedly referred to herself as an “only child.” This week came news that she actually has two half sisters, although apparently she had very little contact with them.

The McCain campaign had also put out the story that Mother Teresa “convinced” Cindy to bring home two orphans from Bangladesh in 1991.

Mrs. McCain, it turns out, never met Mother Teresa on that trip. (Once contacted by the Monitor, the campaign revised the story on its website.)

The story about Mother Teresa “convincing” Mrs. McCain to bring home two children from an orphanage in Bangladesh has been retold many times. Initially, the “About Cindy McCain” page on the McCain campaign website read: “Mother Teresa convinced Cindy to take two babies in need of medical attention to the United States. One of those babies is now their adopted daughter, 16-year-old Bridget McCain.”

The media picked up the theme. A story earlier this year on ABC’s “Good Morning America” stated, “With Mother Teresa’s encouragement she brought her fourth child, Bridget, home.” An April 2008 Wall Street Journal profile states that Mother Teresa “implored” Cindy to bring the girls to the United States. Other articles say Cindy did it “at the behest” of Mother Teresa.

I'm actually a bit surprised by this, but I really shouldn't be, considering the woman has been caught in massive lies before, http://www.salon.com/news/feature/1999/10/18/drugs/print.html">like stealing from her own charity to support her prescription drug habit for starters. All of these lies start to add up and you really have to wonder what else Cindy McCain and the McCain campaign are lying about.

2. Yeah... and Mother Teresa (no 'h') shared cookie recipes with Cindy, too.
She's a LIAR ... congenital LIAR. She married a CHEAT, she embezzled drugs, and she helped cook the books for Keating. She's a fuckgin Liar.

God how I detest liars!! :grr:

5. I hate liars too
I have had to deal with my Mother's constant, relentless lying all my life and it has made me despise liars. Cindy McCain reminds me of my Mother, although I do like my Mother better. A lot better.

11. You've got one of those, too? Take heart ...

... that you're not having to be her ("assisted living") caregiver for the last five years. Of course it's now called "confabulation" since she's 88 ... despite her lifetime track record. Oh well.

(Little did I know that patience is actually my forte ... contrary to shit-flingers that know very little about ANYTHING they might spew.)

22. I live 2,500 miles from my Mother
Since they live in the same town, my poor little sister has to deal with her and her foolishness. She is 67 and is quite the character. No way I could deal with her on a daily basis. Her lying and manipulating drive me up the wall.

12. That 'h' tries to sneak in when I type her name, too.
It's always easier to see our own weaknesses in others. (Especially after I again verified it.) :silly:

16. Yep, and I'm a stickler for correcting typos, too...
I had TWO in my journal. How horrifying!

I can't figure out how to edit my journal to get rid of them though. I guess I'll have to live with it. :D

17. The Journal can only be edited by editing the original post ... OR ...
... by getting a kind supermod (with magickal powers) to edit it for you if it's beyond the 1-hour limit but still not in the archives. If it's aged into the archives, then it's there for the ages.

I just checked and it's been magically fixed. Maybe the journal updated a little bit after I edited the article because I checked it immediately afterward and it still had the two typos. Now they're gone!

3. I've been bothered by this for a while, a few accounts even
stated that Mother Theresa "implored" Cindy to "take the babies". It DOES make a difference. Sadly, Cindy doesn't realize that from Bridget's perspective, being begged to 'take a baby' is even more demoralizing than the concept of her adoptive mother falling for her on her own.

The 'McCain's' story is anything but genuine or honest.
