Obama: The first time I got my first choice
I wonder if this is true of any of you. I have always supported the Democratic ticket. But I never had my first choice from the primary until now....
My Primary choices were
1980 Kennedy
1984 Hart
1988 Biden
1992 Harkin
1996 (No challenger)
2000 Bradley
2004 Dean
2008 Obama

Finally!!!

3. Sort of. My first choice this year was Biden, and although he isn't the
Presidential candidate, he's ONE THE TICKET! In the prior elections, my choices were the same as yours except in 92 when my choice was Clinton!

4. Me too!!!
My list is nearly identical to yours!

Wait, on second check it is exactly the same as yours...

I hated seeing Bill Clinton rise above his challengers, I thought, "oh no, not this guy from Arkansas..." I liked Harkin.

Sorry to say that to Billophiles, but we've all had similar experiences, no?

:hi:

On to the white house!!!

:toast:

WOW! Although we live in totally different worlds ( I am in the Appalachian Bible Belt)--but I love NYC--I've visited it twice a year since 1999.

7. First time for me, although my record is shorter.

I didn't care who was the nominee in 1992. (Partying college kid back then.) Didn't vote in primary. Didn't vote in general election either. :spank:

I didn't start paying attention in 2000 until the convention. I figured Gore would be the nominee since he was already VP. Didn't vote in primary.

2003/2004 Clark was my first choice. Kerry was my second. So, I had no problem switching to Kerry when Clark dropped out. First time voting in primary.

2007/2008 Obama first choice. Hillary second choice until December. Second choice switched to Biden.

I'm all good this time around.

11. I just can't write off Edwards completely.
I wasn't supporting him in this Primary (Hey--I'm from Illinois there never was any doubt about who I was working for!) but I still think a great deal of John Edwards. Yeah, he did mess up--NO doubt--but his message was dead on the whole time.

-------

As for feeling good for the first time in a long time about the Primary outcome, I have to confess that this year is the first in a VERY long time that I was on the winning side in the Presidential Primaries.

Peace.

Laura

17. Yeah, really. I feel like a sucker for supporting Edwards.
I am the most angry at him for potentially jeopardizing the entire Democratic Party's chances this fall ... Thank goodness he didn't get nominated only to have this thing blow up in all of our faces.

Saved by tabloids.

My God.

Two months ago, I would have been ecstatic for him to be named the VP for Obama. Holy shit! By the hammer of Thor!

... since my firsts choice was Edwards!

But Obama was my second choice from the beginning, so I'm not a bit upset.

15. I wanted Kerry since I first wrapped my brain around the real crimes in IranContra and BCCI and
I am always surprised that more Democrats are still so unaware of how serious those matters are still to our nation's past, present, and future.

Surprised and always disappointed.

18. My first time as well. I've been Obama all the way since October of 07!
I was for Clark in '04, then Kerry.

I didn't give a shit about the primaries in 2000....only once it was settled for the GE.
the results of the 2000 election is what outraged me and got me on these boards.

No voting history prior to 2000, because I didn't vote prior to that and cared very little.

19. Me too, but I'm only 24
And this is only the second primary season I've been involved with. But the first one nearly demoralized me enough to give up on politics, and I was afraid to get on board with Obama in 2007 because I was afraid I'd get my heart broken again. It wasn't until after South Carolina that I realized I couldn't sit on the sidelines anymore.

24. The One Thing I've Learned About Politics
is that its kind of like sports. I'm a big sports fan. But you have to be prepared to win some and lose some. After you've lost, then winning is so much more an intensified feeling.
