Yesterday Matthews tried to say that the house flap was about McCain's age. According to Tweety, the Obama camp is using this to say that McCain can't remember how many houses he has.

The Dem talker on the show at the time tried to explain that it's about the economy, but you know how Matthews talks over people all the time.

hypocrisy. I really don't care how many houses he owns. It's his money. But to paint Obama as an elitist while having so many multi-million dollar homes (with servants) that he can't even keep them straight is just another point in a long litany that proclaims McCain not only as an elitist himself; but an extreme hypocrite as well.

"We're delighted to have a real estate debate with Barack Obama," said spokesman Brian Rogers, adding that the press should focus on Obama's house. "It's a frickin' mansion. He doesn't tell people that. You have a mansion you bought in a shady deal with a convicted felon."

The felon reference was to Tony Rezko, a former Obama friend and financial backer who was convicted on fraud and bribery charges this year. Rogers vowed to intensify efforts to link Obama to Rezko in the coming days.

"That's fair game now," he said. "You are going to see more of that now that this issue has been joined. You'll see more of the Rezko matter from us."

Now? Hasn't that dill-hole Sean Hannity been pushing the Tony Rezco smear over at Faux News for you since the beginning of the year? The McCain campaign produced its own Rezco ad (why do they pay for these ads when Faux News does it for free?)

McCain seems to be obsessed with being bigger than Obama. Obama wants 2 brigades for Afghanistan, McCain said 3. Obama spent 5 million during the olympics. McCain spent 6. Then there is all the "celebrity" BS. It's all about McCain's "machismo."

She looked like Cokie, and had the same voice and accent, but she was defending Obama, and bringing up great counter points to Will and Halperin, like "it's not about having 7 houses, it's about not KNOWING you have 7 houses...". She sounded sane!

That's hilarious. If they think the Obama campaign has nothing with which to counter attack, they're truly fools. I think the first ads that really lay into McCain's betrayal of his maverick image, the constant pandering of the last few years, will really hurt him with independents and it'll bring up all of those sore spots with the Republican base.
