Pawlenty: Obama should have picked Petraeus for VP.»

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who is on Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) vice presidential short list, criticized Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) yesterday for his selection of Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) as his running mate. Instead, Pawlenty said that Obama should have picked Gen. David Petraeus, whom he considers “an outstanding leader and somebody who would better represent the mainstream of the country.” Petraeus is the right wing’s dream candidate. Earlier this week, the McCain campaign floated Petraeus as a VP choice, despite the general’s previous declaration that he has no desire to ever run for public office.

17. Timmeh is such a drip
the one and only reason he won his terms is because in both elections third party candidates bled off enough Dems to let the little prick squeak through into the winner's circle. Governor Bridge-Fall-Down-Go-Boom is a petty little asshat. just another Repuke ass-kisser who sold out his working class roots to rub shoulders with the rich and powerful.

Select him, Grampy, and watch Joe Biden pound him into mulch in the first ten minutes of the VP debate.

15. I am leaning towards on purpose
They may have made a run at the General only to be told he supports Obama. Thus the leak to try to turn a positive into a negative. Obama didn't pick the guy he should have! Too funny if true.

This bullying arrogance is their weakness and will be their defeat.

6. Hunh? In what way does Petraeus "represent the mainstream" of this country?
Less than 1% of our population serves in the military--that's about as out-of-the-mainstream a career as it gets. Just silly. Pawlenty is an airhead.

11. Yeah, so why don't we just have a military coup?
Now, I can see Retired Gen. Wesley Clark being a VP nominee, but to suggest the guy who reports to the current Republican President and is charged with carrying out the Bush/McCain military policy is INSANE and shows how stupid Pawlenty is. Those people will say and do anything.

22. And Petraeus is a Democrat, how?
After the "Betrayus" ad and all the furor THAT caused, HOW THE FUCK could this partisan hack say this?

Petraeus is the most compliant military figure money could buy.

I say, watch Petraeus AFTER his military "career" and observe WHICH military contractor or lobbying firm he LATCHES on to.

This should be made a test case for the existence of the "military-industrial-political complex".
