Suddenly John McCain is talking about 'respectful debate' again.
Edited on Sun Aug-24-08 01:10 PM by lamprey
WASHINGTON (AFP) — Republican White House contender John McCain said Saturday his Democratic rival Barack Obama had made a "very wise selection" in picking Senate colleague Joseph Biden to be his running mate.

"I know that Joe will campaign well for Senator Obama, and so I think he's going to be very formidable," McCain told CBS News in an interview from his Arizona ranch...

"Joe and I have been friends for many, many years, and we know each other very well, and so I think he's (Obama's) made a very wise selection." ...

"But we really have different approaches to many national security issues. I look forward to whoever my running mate will be having a respectful debate with him on that as well."

Respectful my ass. Wary of Joe's left hook, maybe.

2. Hypocrite. Damn I am beginning to despise the man.
Is he crying uncle because he knows Joe can smack him around good?

I hope he is scared.

3. What a hypocritical blowhard. He musta realized that Biden wasn't gonna take his shit
I swear that half the crap that McCain got away with was because Obama couldn't say anything black without being accused of playing the race card.

4. I think he's subtly asking Joe to "be nice" because of their friendship. Won't work.
Biden has never been afraid to disagree with friends on policy. Nice try, John.

8. Yeah. That's why he hired Rove protege Steve Schmidt--to run a 'respectful' campaign.

9. He is like a child, pleading not to be punished. For the first time
in ages, I am really looking forward to the debates, both Presidential and VP.
My only problem is the fact that I no longer have MSNBC, would really love to hear Keith and Rachel cover the goings-on.

10. That's the Rove way
Fling poo and then declare a need for a clean campaign as your opponent reacts.
They will repeat this again and again from now until election day.

One solution is.. don't relent and smash McCain's face right back in the poo he threw
