Dear Mr. Oreskes:
I find Mr. Fournier's lack of impartiality more in keeping with the shoddy "journalism" that we have come to expect from the likes of Faux (Fox) News, an organization that gets the most credit for lowering not only the political discourse in this country but for being an obvious propaganda arm for the failed Bush administration.
That AP would harbor and abet an employee, such as Mr. Fournier, shames not only you as his superior but your entire organization.
Mr. Fournier, I assume, is not paid to be a columnist (at least that is not how his position on the AP staff is billed) or a shock jock, such as Rush is. However, his biased reporting of the presidential primaries and most recently of not only the election but Senator Obama's choice of Senator Biden as vice-president, are no more than Fox News-like pandering and pouting than real journalistic efforts.
If Mr. Fournier is really doing his the job for which he is paid, why has he not written about the numerous current problems and past transgressions of Mr. McCain (and the answer is NOT, "Oh, because that is old news.")
Mr. Fournier needs to pretty-boy himself up and scuttle on off to the dark recesses of Faux News where the likes of his "journalistic" are not only expected but welcomed by their viewers. Your firing him would go a long way to helping him find his rightful place in the media business (it's not really journalism that Mr. Fournier writes, now is it???!!!)
Thank you for your kind attention to my passionate and reasoned request for helping return our country to real journalism again by firing Mr. Fournier.
Warm regards, Kay Gore
