Matching donations

Ever since I started sending donations to the political candidates, and especially after realizing the massive sum of money that they all raised, I made it a point to "match" my political contributions to local and national charities.

As I posted here before, several weeks ago, after I thought that I was done with political donations this cycle, I picked up the phone from the Obama campaign and after assuring the caller that, of course, I would vote for him, I agreed to a $50 contribution.

And today I am sending $50 to Hunger Solution Minnesota.

I urge others to do the same. As we all know too well, people are hurting, have to decide between food and medicine, paying rent or clothes to their kids.

(And, yes, I hope to donate to DU around Nov. 3rd, to provide starless DUers a star in case DU will have to limit access..)
