How many houses would Jesus own?
Edited on Sun Aug-24-08 03:20 PM by bushisanidiot
seriously. How many, Mr. McCain?

Matthew 5

The Beatitudes

1 Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him,
2 and he began to teach them saying:
3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

3. Luke 9:58
Jesus answered him, "Foxes have dens and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to rest his head.

5. This is another area where McCondo is way out of touch with americans.
tragedies in life such as hurricane katrina wiping out cities, have caused people who had NOTHING left.. no where to go, to look to the Lord for the inspiration to go on. McCondo has wallowed in his wealth and because of that, he cannot connect with those who have truly suffered in poverty. He will throw those Children of God under the bus just like he did his POW buddies back in the '90's.

6. Since we're on the subject....
did you notice that Obama's platform seems to be pretty much based on Matthew 25:34-XX, and it was obvious in his Saddleback responses.

35'For (C)I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; (D)I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;

36(E)naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you (F)visited Me; (G)I was in prison, and you came to Me.'

37"Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?

38'And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You?

39'When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'

40"(H)The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, (I)to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'

than attempting to convert you.

11. What, you never saw a course like "the Bible as Literature"?
Try reading Moby Dick without understanding the scriptural references!

'Swounds, people! There is a purpose to the Bible, other than to be a self-help manual (sorry Joel Osteen, I don't think you have it right).

I'd suggest Chapter six, verses five through eight.

(I may be a heathen, but I still like to read.... :) )

13. Don't bag on Jesus!
It's not his fault that a creepy religion whose main symbol is a bloody man being tortured and dying in agony was built up around him.

Besides, Jesus said "Blessed are the cheesemakers." And I agree.

Or was that Brian? Ah well, hooray for dairy products!

10. None. or maybe one.
During the three years of His ministry, He was basically "homeless", traveling from town to town and staying with friends and disciples.

It is likely that he was the legal owner of his mother's house though, as Joseph probably died when Jesus was in his late teens or early 20's, and as the eldest son (or technically stepson) in a patriarchal society, JC would have inherited Joseph's house, the carpentry business and whatever other property Joe might have had.

John 14:2 (King James Version)
