I have been watching...
political conventions for over 50 years; back to the days of gavel to gavel on every TV station and on the radio. What I do not remember is one party intruding on the convention of the other as the GOP is doing this year. I do not remember the GOP being heard let alone seen during the 1968 Convention in Chicago or the Democrats intruding on the Republican campaign in 1972 or 1980 or even in 2000.
This is a show of such bad sportsmanship that my brain aches. The GOP needs to shut up and go away this week or expect the Democrats to return the favor next week. I am an absolute believer in the Golden Rule: do onto others....or as the Hindus say Karma. What is even worse is putting out political ads this week and getting play on the MSM. This is not politics as a game this is warfare with no quarters drawn.:grr:

1. The GOP was very much in evidence at the 1968 DNC but in disguise.
The disruption by the Republicans is just more open now. They think they no longer have to hide.

2. McCain < Bush.
Who thought someone could outdo Bush on being petty? I didn't think it was possible.

3. I was thinking the same myself
It occurred to me a couple days ago when every single talking point about the convention was countered with "well, McCain had this to say about it" or something to that effect. I remember watching political conventions since I was 14 (29 now) and I remember there being little in terms of response from the opposition party and it being characterized as the other team being gracious to other teams "moment".

Now it's wall to wall - with every single statement at the DNC given a chance for response by someone in the RNC or the McCain camp. It's almost like we're watching American Idol and the GOP are the judges - they are setting the tone for our own convention and dominating the talking points in the MSM.

I say that the gloves come off from this point forward.
