Why would McCain want to announce the VEEP on his b-day
And remind everyone once again of his advancing age AND of this "let them eat cake" shot during Katrina?

Jeez, how clueless can you get! I wonder what genius in the McCain camp thought of that stunt.

1. I certainly hope the Obama camp does a "Happy Birthday McCain" commercial.
I want it to kick HARD - horrific scenes from Katrina, one after the other, then party pics with Bush. Fuck him.

11. He thinks it's lost in the interweb's fast series of tubes!
Obama's team should use that pic in an ad. Split screen - McCain and Shrub eating birthday cake vs. people dying in the Superdome.

They could do a "where were you that day" ad.

Where were you? If you were like most Americans you were glued to your TV sets praying for our beloved New Orleans, contacting relatives to make sure they were ok... or even evacuating your home to escape the rising flood waters...

Where was President Bush and John McCain? Eating birthday cake!!!

They were NOT talking to Louisiana officials about how to handle the disaster. They were not diverting our already overstretched National Guard to New Orleans to assist with rescues and maintain the peace. They were not working with FEMA to coordinate aid.

Maybe top it off with Kayne: "Bush doesn't care about black people!" - Ok, maybe that's too far...

But this has to be an ad.

3. Thats just it
By announcing on his 72nd birthday he hopes everyone will be talking about his VP choice instead of his advancing age.

Edited on Tue Aug-26-08 12:54 PM by Liberal_Stalwart71
point! I'm so frustrated with this. No one is reminding the American people that McSame was celebrating his birthday on the same day of the Katrina disaster. And yet McSame now says that he would have acted after Katrina?!??!?! FUCKING LIAR!! But I at least expected the left to raise this issue. They aren't doing so!! :puke::puke::puke:

6. I guess he thinks that
there would be talk about that anyway, but he hopes that the V.P. pick will mean they'd spend LESS time on it. I don't agree with that sentiment but maybe that's what's going on in his mind

13. Thanks for the reminder-- that day is a great day to roll out that picture.
In addition to the "embrace" picture, we need to publicize the "Katrina cake" picture to show just how fucking out of touch and like Bush McCain is.

18. Kick, and not for nothin'
Gustav is headed for the Gulf. Current projections (which are subject to change at a moment's notice) has NoLa right dead center.

Given that absolutely nothing has changed along the Gulf Coast in the last three years and not one bit of preparedness has been improved, what are the chances of a repeat -- if not worse disaster? Gustav is already Cat I and has the whole, bathwater-warm Gulf to feed off of. Just sayin'.

I'm really sorry to hear that -- hopefully it will just be a big enough storm to knock McCain & his Veep shill on their asses and spare NOLA any more grief.
