Received this email from co-worker...
. ; Subject: SOMEHOW THEY MISSED THIS IN FARHENHEIT 911

Another Side of the President

Above is a picture of Mike McNaughton of Denham Springs, LA. He stepped on a land mine in Afghanistan Christmas 2002. President Bush came to visit the wounded in the hospital. He told Mike that when he could run a mile that they would go on a run together. True to his word, he called Mike every month or so to see how he was doing. Well, last week they went on the run, 1 mile with the president. Not something you'll see in the news, but seeing the president taking the time to say thank you to the wounded and to give hope to one of my best friends was one of the greatest/best things I have seen in my life. It almost sounds like a corny email chain letter, but God bless him.

Flight Surgeon, 1-2 AVN RGT

You may want to pass this to everyone you know.
The media is pulling every dirty trick in the book to undermine our president's popularity in the polls.
Let's join together and be all the media our president needs to get the truth out to the public about who he really is! Blessings to all.

How am I supposed to resond to something like this? Any Ideas?

How bout'

- Okay, I'll ignore everything I saw in F911 because of this story.
- or, there are a lot of nice people that would run with this guy. Does that mean I should ignore the bad economy, the out of control deficit, the health-care costs, the high gas-prices, the Iraq disaster, and the fact that most of the world hates America.

2. There's no point in responding.
Republicans NEED to have their hero worship.

Though it is worth noting that * is willing to have himself photographed with this soldier but can't be bothered to attend even ONE funeral.

15. sorry - we have to reply
So much of this BS is out there because we don't answer the charges.

Most Americans probably still think the Sudan offered Osama's head on a platter to Bill Clinton 3 times.

20. I agree, for lies like that.
But this incident DID happen (as verified by Snopes), and that's enough for a Bushlover to prove what a "godly" man he is.

Anyone who would be swayed by a blatant photo op like this is unreachable.

Anyone who can't see the stupidity of that with their own two eyes isn't worth trying to reason with.

4. And the press just happened to be there
to take pictures of them running together. How sweet.

Your co-worker is being played like a violin. Bush doesn't care about this guy. It was a photo op. If he cared about him, we wouldn't know about it. There wouldn't be photos and news stories about it.

Bush is using this poor man, just like he uses every victim of 9/11, to further his own political ambitions.

this is true.

So he did one nice thing - still doesn't mean the guy deserves to be President.

Then they could discuss the reasons they've been maimed.

9. They know a potential photo op when they see it.....
Edited on Fri Aug-27-04 12:51 PM by Gloria
They knew how he would recover and they kept up contact until he got his limb. Easy promise to keep. Much more appealing than staying in touch with a soldier with a traumatic head wound or mental problems............

10. Tell co- worker bush* is obviously using the vet for a photo op or the
picture wouldn't be out there. Then ask how many vets' funerals bush* has gone to, and how many benefits he has cut.

bush* cares very deeply for the veterns he can use for his own gain. Sorta like the guys with him on plastic turkey day as opposed to the ones stuck dodging bullets waiting for transportation out while the CIC had the Baghadad Airport tied up.

Just ask your friend why the shrub has not attended a single funeral of the nearly 1000 that have been killed. Also... One out of 6000+ maimed and injured does not cut it!

Edited on Fri Aug-27-04 12:55 PM by BillyBunter
If only he were nice enough to fix the economy, and social security, and health insurance, and create jobs for the 1.8 million Americans who are out of work on his watch, and get us out of Iraq with honor, I'd like him even more. I didn't like Clinton much, but everyone I knew had jobs back then.

16. He is responsible for that loss of limb by sending this guy to Iraq
with lies. He may as well have cut off that leg with his own butcher knife. Now he uses him for his photo op. He has no honor, this evil man and no conscience. This is another urban legend type story. Bush revels in sadism. And what do I think of the willing soldier? better to not say it here. Too bad there are not more Jessica Lynch types around.

18. How about this?
One photo-op with an injured veteran does not make up for his not receiving any of the over 1,000 returning coffins to this country, slashing veteran's benefits and combat pay, stretching our military too thin and instituting a back-door draft all the while pissing off the countries that should be our allies in this sort of thing.

22. How about this?
Thanks for the email. I never doubted that Bush has a decent side, but of course everybody does. The least he can do for those who were brave enough to risk their lives for our country is to pay them some attention. I only hope he comes over to Kerry's position that would provide proper funding for VA hospitals so that brave soldiers like CPT Justin P. Dodge always have the care they need. Jogging with a war hero is not enough.

24. I'd also suggest ratting out your co-worker for

sending blatantly political e-mails on company time and using company property. Does your boss pay him/her to help Bush* campaign?

Of course, if your boss agrees with him/her, it will do no good.

Some people don't have the brains to keep politics and religion out of the workplace.

25. Who Knew There'd Be A Camera There?
Nice photo op, certainly beats this one:

Why don't you start by talking about the hazard pay Bush cut from the soldiers on the front lines, the veterans benefits he pulled out, the way he extended tours of duty and took people out of retirement to manage his fiasco.

26. Thanks for the help..
Actually my boss, and everyone else I work with, supports Bush(Atlanta, GA). It makes me sick.

Yesterday another co-worker was wearing a shirt that had a big "W" on the sleave. I almost pucked when I saw it.

Another one recently asked me why I was voting for Kerry.
"WHY?, WHY?, WHY?, Jesus Christ do I have to make a f**kin list for you?"

Anyways, these people are nice... but they are also stupid.
