Gergen on CNN thinks there is still a lot of racism
that could mean the Dems may not win even with this tremendous showing in the stadium. I think he is full of it. If we can't win with this ticket I give up.

2. Gergen is right. As a white male, I can guarantee you it's out there.
But I believe it won't be racism, if we lose. It will be structurally reinforced cheating. Ohio, Florida, and Karl Rove.

5. I have come accross more red neck racists than I can count in the last six months.
It is going to be a real battle to overcome racism and a broken election system.

4. He is right, to a degree. It isn't just the race, though.
The name doesn't help, and his background isn't exactly run of the mill. Throw in bullshit guilt by association that the conservatives will use, and this is going to be a close election.

Of course I believe Obama can win, but I have no illusions it will be a cake-walk. It is all about turnout, turnout, turnout....which is why the enthusiasm gap comforts me.

6. I think the motivation of the electorate will be far greater than the few
idiots who cling to race as an excuse to hate.

8. He is right.... but if we can increase voter turnout by just 10% we will win in a landslide...
So he's wrong about the voting part.

29. That's what this election comes down to... What's more important to certain people....
Obama being black, or how shitty that person's situation is.

13. He's right, there is a lot of racism
However, if the turnout is large enough, then we'll win. We've got high enthusiasm for our candidate, the thugs can't match that!!

14. Unfortunately he's right
and if we lose I believe that will be the reason. I remember Bradley here in Los Angeles but I think that if we can get out the vote and register new people we will win this thing.

27. The racists who are already voting for black Democrats in Chicago
will continue to do so, don't you think? The racists who won't, are, and have been, Republicans.

18. So do we think Gore or Kerry got the racist vote. I don't think so.
We just need more new young voters and more new African American voters and we'll win.

24. He's right and the reality is that many folks who will even tell the pollster
that they will vote for Obama, will not, once they are in the privacy of the voting booth.

This lessens with the younger generation, but it is still a hard reality in this country

25. This election has..
..turned on the lights and shown all of the racist cockroaches scurrying about. They've been there the whole time but now they're showing themselves for what they are.

Obama still has a fight ahead of him to overcome this slime. Good people, many of them Democrats, have unwittingly bought into the "Obama is a Muslim" thing, and this needs to be fought and fought hard.

He's shown that he has what it takes to do it, though. Boy, has he ever. I think McCain is toast.
