"Daddy, is he the first black-skinned President?"
My 7 yr old daughter just asked that.

My 10 yr old son replied "He will be the first, and not the last."

:applause:

12. No, Obama won't be the last black man elected as president. . .
but another hundred years or so will pass before any WOMAN is elected as President.
I expect that we will have several black male presidents long, long before we have
any woman.

14. We passed a threshhold
it is the content of their character that will determine Dem nominees and future Presidents from now on. Not gender. Not race. We will see a woman within 24 years.

18. Yep... if it's not Hillary in 2016, Claire McCaskill is lookin' good.
I'm very impressed with her. Give her 8 more years in the Senate, and she'll be there!

21. Maybe, maybe not.
I don't think we need to get in a war about who is more oppressed.

23. History does seem to trend that way but...
Not 100 years. Black men got the right to vote in the 1870's, women in the 1920's.
A black man was elected to the Supreme Court in the 1960's. A woman in the 1980's.

The gap is closing. It won't be that long, now.

A black woman president... on the other hand...

An Asian woman president... now THAT would be a complete validation of our melting pot.
