3. If I were a gambler, I'd bet she lived in a trailer.
And she sounded like she was trying to convince herself more than anyone else.

4. Meet half my family.
Same oblivious attitude: "There ARE jobs for people who really want to work. I saw a "help wanted" sign in the window of the gas station just yesterday."

:eyes:

9. Or work harder. That always works as well.
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 11:03 PM by HughBeaumont
You know, like 94% of blue collar workers that ever existed. The reason they didn't retire to the house on the hill and didn't leave windfall inheritances to their children is because they simply did not live in that steel mill or that factory or that machine shop LONG ENOUGH and they didn't WORK HARD ENOUGH!!!

Or like the lazy-ass single moms out there who work the uniquely American 2-3 jobs and live paycheck to paycheck! Why, they should just be simply rolling in the Dough-Re-Mi! Why not just get a FOURTH job? Sleep is such an overrated time waster and families grow up before you know it. They'll get over your absence.

Or like several thousand slacker workers who HAVE masters degrees and gave nights, sometimes weekends to their jobs. But damn it, the corporations they worked for made those pesky bad decisions here and there and for whatever reason didn't make enough goldurned money this quarter. IT'S LAYOFF TIME! They'll bounce back! They can use this opportunity to start a whole new life. Oh wait, I thought everyone had a money tree in their back yard or a multi-thousand dollar trust fund/bank account to hold them over until they find that new job because they're in such abundance . . . oh, they're not? 8 straight months of job losses, huh?

I just want to clock people DEAD in the face who believe this Horatio Alger bullshit.
