15. Actually, it was a deeply liberal speech; it explained our world view - finally.

18. And therein lies the problem.. the RW throws around a scary term like liberal, never
fully defining it beyond "they'll tax you, take your guns and bibles, let gays get married in your churches, and give your women abortions."

Finally, a real chance for discourse has been laid out in front of the American voters.

...he also said that he stuck the needle right in him. It seems that Buchanan is loving the speech!

I could not believe my ears. Great to see you confirm it.

10. He has a heart. I know it. I always thought he did.
I can feel it within him. I'm serious. He is an isolationist and so out there. He may even be a racist. However, I think KO is a positive influence on him. He wants to like it. He wants to like Barack.

11. Buchanan has been being very positive about Obama
for days now. The last time I heard any criticism out of his mouth was when he was urging him to get tougher on McCain. Tonight certainly put that to rest!

16. Ruh roh. I completely agree with Buchanan.
The section he quoted was one of my two favorite parts too:

The times are too serious, the stakes are too high for this same partisan playbook. So let us agree that patriotism has no party. I love this country, and so do you, and so does John McCain.

The men and women who serve in our battlefields may be Democrats and Republicans and independents, but they have fought together, and bled together, and some died together under the same proud flag. They have not served a red America or a blue America; they have served the United States of America.

So I've got news for you, John McCain: We all put our country first.

America, our work will not be easy. The challenges we face require tough choices. And Democrats, as well as Republicans, will need to cast off the worn-out ideas and politics of the past, for part of what has been lost these past eight years can't just be measured by lost wages or bigger trade deficits. What has also been lost is our sense of common purpose, and that's what we have to restore.

30. As nutty and xenophobic as Buchanan is, he was a
speechwriter. And he recognizes a well crafted speech when he sees one. Too bad he didn't recognize the Nazi piece of shit he spewed at the 1992 RNC for what it is.
