Pundits and Haters Have to Eat Shit as Dem Convention Goes Off PERFECTLY
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 11:28 PM by alcibiades_mystery
I mean, really. Every single complaint or possible problem the pundits brought were knocked down as if the whole thing was designed to rebut them. It was perfect.

Best political convention I've ever seen.

Somebody posted earlier this week that the Obama people were smart. That thread got a lot of negative replies from haters and worriers. But the Obama people ARE clearly very, very smart. The press is speechless. The GOP comebacks are lame, half-hearted, and rejected. Every negative narrative the pundits and haters developed for the convention has been crushed into sand. The thing was extraordinary.

Of course, we'll have to wait on the polls for some people to be satisfied. But the best example of the complete reversal would be the Greek columns. This morning, every pundit and DU hater and worrier was in an uproar over the "Greek columns." Consider how utterly petty and silly that seems now, less than 24 hours later. It's a metaphor for the whole convention. It was a reproach to the stupidity and silliness of our political discourse, and it went over like fucking gangbusters.

Perfect.

18. Someone needs to compile a clip of all the pundits acting silly and crazy and out of character
Preferably, the Daily Show who are always game for mocking the media.

6. Obama didn't only knock the ball out of the park - he slammed it clean into orbit!
The conclusion of the convention was masterful - Obama's incredible speech then the fireworks and confetti and streamers. It was a perfectly brilliant end to an amazingly suspenseful and uplifting convention!

8. Goopers and many pundits got punked
They kept insisting that Obama "hired" Biden as his hatchet man, to throw out the red meat. They were all caught flat footed when it was Obama himself who came out landing series of hits that left the gop so disoriented they couldn't even respond with a coherent response.

Yeah, I can't wait to hear from H2O Man.

10. I'm just glad the Clintons gave the performance they did.
I can't imagine a better end for the "PUMA" meme. I don't know that I have ever been happier with them. Of course most of the speeches that I caught were excellent.

The punditry may have been dismal, but after this convention anything the repigs come up with will look cheap and petty, making the media bias that much more transparent.

15. Obama did a rope a dope, and this convention was amazing.
:toast: If I wore sweet socks in the summertime, they would have been knocked off.

I live in Minneapolis, so I'm waiting for the pestilence to infiltrate my fair Twin Cities, but at least tonight, I can savor this brilliant, flawless convention.

Oh and Tim Pawlenty is a foolish, silly, downy, recently mullet free, politically right of Michelle Bachmann republican, and his little, Aw shucks, Opie appeal won't pass muster on a national level. Considering he vetoed every infrastructure bill, even when a bridge collapsed that killed 13 people and forever injured and changed everyone who was there on August 1, 2007, in order to stick with his "no new taxes pledge". This caused all of the stressful financial burdens to fall upon cities and counties and small communities, what could he deliver for McCain? Ha. I hope McCain chooses Pawlenty, because Minnesota will never ratify a McCain/Pawlenty ticket, even if we are considered a now "battleground state". Timmy the Tool and Norm "I never met a skirt I didn't like" Coleman, (of which I have a personal experience, as does every woman who has ever met him) are burdens and not assets to McCain, at least in the Twin Cities.

Bring it on, pubbies.

I'll take sturdy marble Greek columns over collapsing bridges any day.

Sometimes, ya score one for the underdogs. Barack and Howard are a mighty super-duo of grassroots campaigns.:woohoo:
