From what I saw on CNN tonight, they had a camera in the Excel center and it looked like they were almost completely set up in terms of the stage and everything.

I can't help but wonder how much this will cost the RNC and the logistical nightmare of changing the delegates reservations.

1. Money is no matter to them

All they have to do is promise lower taxes on hotel chains, stadiums, and airlines and it's all taken care of.

And I just realized, this is my 1000th post on DU. Yay!

4. It will cost them the election if they go on, they don't know what to do, they don't care about the
hurricane hurting anyone, they are going to use it, they don't have a choice, they have nothing and need time, well they can take all the time they want, they lost and they know it and I have not one ounce of sympathy for them or those who have lost money giving it to those morons.

6. With all the reservations, setup, EVERYTHING,
they cannot delay it. Either hold it or cancel it altogether.

Think about it. Someone else obviously will be using the convention center after the RNC is over. So how CAN they reschedule?

7. How about the delegates?
Travel, housing, extra prostitutes in town with no customers. All of this will add up!

9. And I'm sure they will not get any of the money invested in the
building itself, the vendors that were hired, etc., none of that will be refunded. The site will never refund, they could have rented it out during that week. I had understood the RNC had problems financially to begin with. Nah, it's now or never.

10. Not logistically possible
Thousands of activities would need to be rescheduled.

Rooms
Transportation
Security
Conventions Staff
Delegates
Networking

These things take a year to put together. The only thing they could do is have a very small convention, very understated, and claim they did it because of the hurrican rather than admitting to the truth that they are scared shitless.

11. Brazillions, I assume. My attitude toward people with too much money is:
whatever it takes to part them from as much of it as possible, as quickly as possible, is fine with me.

12. They could probably get a last minute booking at the
"convention center" at the Holiday Inn (or is it Ramada??) in Ely, NV, where my cousin had her wedding reception. They have at least half a dozen conference rooms and the hotel must have 100+ rooms.

Hahahahahahah!!!!
