4. She's my age. Only 6 months older than me. (I sure wish I could've met her. And how.)
When I look at Barack and think I'm his mother's age, it stuns me. I can't imagine how proud I'd be of a son like that. It'd be overwhelming.

10. Oh- what a night!!
Hi Grantcart- just wanted to say Hi and let you know that we watched the speech live and simulcasted with 400-500 people from around Cincinnati- a Jumbotron screen on Fountain Square. I could feel Peace in the air. People's faces were so lively and hopeful. Cincinnati needs this, if you are familiar with race relations here. We were all the happiest bunch of people I have ever seen.

12. On PBS, right as Obama took the stage, someone in the background (on tv) said "smile...smile!"
in a hushed tone, like they didn't know the mic was picking them up, and then when he looked a little emotional, that voice in the background said, "he's thinking of his mother right now".

i wonder if that was Mark Shields saying that, sounded a little like him or Lehrer.

16. Ever since I was a kid I've always kept a list of the folks I hope
to meet in heaven, she is on that list, I so want to sit and talk with her, to thank her and to tell her what a hell of a job she did.
