The Zeitgeist Cometh and All the Old Metaphors Will Fail.
Edited on Fri Aug-29-08 12:33 AM by David Zephyr
There is going to be a new America. In fact, it's already here.

The old paradigm is gone. Erased. Deleted.

How breathtaking it was to watch the anointed talking heads grasp for their old stale metaphors to describe the cultural earthquake that took place tonight in Denver and to watch their old metaphors fail them.

They can not quantify what they can not understand.

They can not assimilate what they can not swallow to begin with.

There is a near cosmic zeitgeist out there and all of the old reliable political calipers simply can not measure it because it will not conform to or fit any convenient label or framework.

Every conventional method of gauging the mood of the American people is going to fail in this election cycle. Why even the best pollsters can not "scientifically" survey voters when the majority of Americans under 40 do not even have telephone land lines! They are licking their fingers and sticking them into a tornado and as they tell us which way it is turning---they will be swept away.

Change is coming and get read to throw away all of the old comfortable, familiar political constructs: they don't work anymore. And those constructs have been part of the problem.

The universe cracked tonight as Barack Obama uttered one single word: Enough!

7. Ive been talking about this for years too, brother..

The Social Contract is being reissued before our eyes, we hit terminal hate velocity and there is some force throughout history that reverses all when that hate limit is reached..

Love, as corny as it sounds is BACK, Baby.. :)

This is why I wrote my book, "The Jesus Bolt" over the last five years (still looking for an Agent or publisher with some Vision).. Spent two summers flying in helicopters in the bush of Alaska in the 70's - prospecting for Uranium for the Dept of Energy, even caught on fire at 3000 feet altitude and crashed in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.. There, I learned The Way of The Jesus Bolt, that bit of steel that holds all the blades together at the top of the chopper, as the pilots liked to say, "when you lose your Jesus bolt, the next person you'll be talking to, is Jesus, himself..." :)

In my book the Jesus Bolt is a metaphor for what holds Everything together, the Universe, ecosystems, a person, what keeps THEM from flying apart..

No religion, but spirituality.. I think that Obama is the Jesus bolt of this, like you said, the agent of Change, a catalyst..

I'd come to the conclusion that the Jesus Bolt is Love.

But that's just me :)

There is literally a new Age coming, but without the flaky shit.. Enjoy it!

Thanks for this post, always enjoy your insights :)

9. "Zeitgeist" could take a bad hit on election day if the vote counting
machines are still rigged, along with other Republican election shenanigans.

The only big mistake made by the Democrats in this election cycle was that they weren't proactive enough about the potential for election fraud, particularly the computerized vote casting and counting processes. If the true margin is large enough, it might be able to overcome the rigged votes.
