McCain's event is in Dayton and I feel bad not having
posted the last couple days on a prediction for his veep, so while there's still time, I think I'll predict --

IT'S PETE ROSE !!

There. I feel much better now. Rose is a Reds great. I think there's even a street named for him in nearby Cincinnati. Probably some John Boehner staff people are picking Pete up at this very moment to drive him up the highway to Dayton.

With Rose, McCain will obviously be going for the gambler demographic. Casino owners will hail the selection of Rose. Nevada stays red!

After the Democratic Convention generally and Obama's acceptance address especially, it doesn't much matter at this point which hopeful McCain picks. He might just as well choose Pete Rose.

That address went from Obama's lips into the history books. Kapow.

McCain's done for.
