Edited on Fri Aug-29-08 10:26 AM by RichGirl
life long democrats who are now claiming to vote for McCain will happily be watching the republican convention next week. What they will hear is the exact opposite of everything they have believed in. They will hear endless praise of Bush, they will find out that pro-choice means baby killer, that war is peace, global warming is silly, they will see a standing ovation for Karl Rove. They will have their sisterhood: the Second Ammendment Sisters! How could any true democrat stomach that?????

50. They are not true Democrats..
I was a Hillary supporter. No way would I do a 180 on my beliefs and vote for McCain. ARe you kidding me?

My take is these women (if they are indeed women) were never true Democrats to begin with. And maybe a handful of Democrats who were so embittered by Clinton's loss that they are willing to cut of their noses to spite their faces. But I think the majority were never real Democrats to beging with. A true Democrat won't give up their beliefs like this.

23. As a fire-breathing feminist I have to say this stance by the PUMAs is
DISGRACEFUL, and antifeminist to boot. Anyone who would vote for a woman merely because she has two X chromosomes is just as bad as someone who would vote for a man merely because he has a penis.

It's always about who is most qualified and has the best intellect and temperament (oh, there's that difficult word again, McCain, lol) for the presidency. If they are a member of a previously oppressed group, that's just icing on the cake.

The PUMAs are obviously Republicans, and they always have been. Their task was to fragment the Democratic Party from within, and they have FAILED.

Well, maybe a tiny handful. Yet on balance the vast majority of ex-Hillary supporters will not abandon their Dem values for a rightie from Alaska (or anywhere). If so, they were never Dems in the first place.

Hard to fathom any true Dem would enjoy voting for the pukes (and Palin) just to stick it to Obama. Talk about the extreme example of cutting off your nose to spite your face.

They were people who were going for Hillary just because she was a woman. That seems like a pretty silly reason to vote for someone. I want to see women succeed at the highest levels of government but I don't want just any woman. I want a qualified candidate who I agree with on important issues, whether it's a woman or a man. I don't think PUMAs will effect Obama much because PUMAs would've probably went to McCain (or stayed home) regardless of the VPs gender.

Cultists do not like the sharp light of scrutiny, and that's exactly what they are.

They are all doing that now; same thing at Capital Hill Forum. Too bad - they were occasionally entertaining. Mostly, though, they were consumed with hate on a level that almost makes the Freepers seem rational (note the word, "almost").

Hope they enjoy their echo chamber of bile.
