Told You So! Predicted That McCain Would Pick Female Dan Quayle - Sarah Palin ...
Edited on Fri Aug-29-08 11:05 AM by Median Democrat
John McCain is so predicatable. Of course, after riding around in a golf cart with Bush, Sr., McCain would pick Sarah Palin, a former Miss Alaska contestant, and the female equivalent of Dan Quayle, to add some youth and eye candy to the ticket ala' Dan (He Looks Like Redford) Quayle. Here are some of my old threads comparing Palin to Dan Quayle:

I am thinking that John McCain's recent meetings with George Bush, Sr., are going to lead to a Bush, Sr. like choice for VP, Sarah Palin, a former Miss Alaska contest Miss Congeniality with modest academic credentials, but who has a very strong athletic background. Also, since her husband works for the oil industry, the Texas GOP may give its blessing.

Like Dan Quayle, she is not an academic super star.

Like Dan Quayle, she had success as a high school athlete.

Like Dan Quayle, she is very conservative, pro-gun, and very pro-life.

Like Dan Quayle, she achieved early political success.

Like Dan Quayle, she is a relative unknown nationally.

Like Dan Quayle, she is youthful and good looking.

Like Dan Quayle, she will be added to an elder Presidential ticket in order to add some youth, charisma and visual appeal.

So, I am predicting that John McCain pulls a George Bush, Sr., and picks a female version of Dan Quayle. This may not be a bad idea, since George Bush, Sr. did win his first presidential contest with Quayle as a running mate.

Oh, and here's my thread predicting that Palin would be VP because she fits the visual profile of John McCain's female staff:

Can you imagine that McCain picked Palin over even Meg Whitman? Pathetic.

Take that CNN Pundits! A poster on DU scooped all of ya.

1. One Thing To Add - Bush/Quayle Were Elected - So Perhaps The GOP
Is counting on Americans to be shallow enough not to listen to her extremist views, and think that women are interchangeable kind of like how simply appointing Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court showed that the GOP could be progressive. Honestly, if McCain picked Condi Rice, I would have felt less unsafe than I am knowing that Palin could potentianlly be a heartbeat away. Palin makes Condi look like liberal on social issues.
